That damn sticker

I don't prefer them to be on my device, I will remove and let it aside in the box and be sticking it while selling the device.

I never leave any sticker cause I want to feel the texture and design’s harmony, but I always use with case when going out just in case

Phone goes in a case anyway, so doesn't matter.
I own a Sam-Gs7 and agree with trucksmoveamerica that if a user
have installed a case on His-her phone the hated stickers-Haha!

will be covered isn't it. So don't see the reason to remove

any sticker, with important information unless you
guys use the phone naked.? Just my opinion ??????

How's it important? All of the information is present on phone packaging... The IMEI # can easily be found in your phone & removing it doesn't effect the warranty.

If you don't mind it or like it by all means keep it on. I use a clear case to showcase my stickers... areyes163 I can't wait to get some more, thanks! ;)

I needed a jackhammer to get the sticker off of my S8 but my S9 went straight into a case so I didn't try to remove it. WD-40? Wow. Overkill for sure. lol
I prefer GooGone

The sticker is to be removed upon receipt and activation of your device. The only reason it's there is because there's no removable battery door, as this is the information that used to be underneath the battery. It's also not a good idea to leave it on as you don't want the wrong person getting ahold of that information either.

I've never been able to get that glue off with anything but WD40. Are those Samsung sticker or are they carrier specific? BTW, I'm not talking about soaking the phone in it. Just a couple of drops on a soft cloth.

I took off the QR sticker because it was unsightly and I hated being able to feel it. The Qualcomm is more out of the way and doesn't bother me so much

Off or on, who cares! its all about looks with everything these days, facking materialists!

Well, these are well-designed devices, and Samsung (and Apple and other high-end OEMs) make a big deal about their designs. So it makes sense that some people would want to minimize anything that distracts from those designs - and that sticker is a great big splotch of ugly!

Personally, I don't care, either, as I cover my phones with cases (I drop things, and I use them at the gym, plus I have kids...), but I can understand why others feel differently.

I feel so stupid posting this question...

I've had my s9 plus for a week and I removed the sticker and applied some isopropyl alcohol where the sticker was.

There is still a darker spot exactly the size of the sticker (Titanium grey version for me). What's weird is that square spot seems UNDER the glass so I simply can't rub it off...

Doesn't make any sense to me as the sticker is applied over the glass back.

Am I doing something wrong?

Interesting. Can you post a picture? Being able to see it might help get a quicker diagnosis.

Between the moment I posted my initial message and now, it might have gotten a bit less visible but it is still perceptible. I'm wondering if it is my fault (suspecting a reaction with the sticker glue and the glass). The heat of the phone maybe? But then again it could have been there the moment I received the phone. And I wouldn't be the only one to have this since I'm sure other people remove their sticker after day one.

Sorry for the crappy picture but the other phone we have is a Grand Prime. I highlighted the area where the darker spot is. It is visible under some angles.

I can definitely see what you're talking about. Did you use the rubbing alcohol immediately after removing the sticker? My first thought was that there was glue residue on your phone that collected dust/smudges/etc. I would think that it's not under your glass, but I could be wrong. Don't see how that could happen.
You might try this: dip one end of a cotton swab into cooking oil. Just get a very small amount on the end of the swab. Any type of vegetable cooking oil will do. Carefully smear a very thin layer of the cooking oil onto the area where the sticker was. Let it sit for at least an hour. Use another cotton swab to gently rub the area for a few seconds. Use soap and warm water on the area to remove the oil. It sounds crazy, but vegetable oil is really good at removing glue residue used to affix stickers. Before anybody goes off on me for suggesting using vegetable oil and warm soapy water to clean a phone, it's just a suggestion. I'm assuming the op would take extreme caution.
