that last update messed my v20 up

Camera app keeps crashing now. Just noticed it and haven't had time to troubleshoot it yet. :/

Edit: reboot seems to have fixed it.

Been running update a few days with Verizon and thank goodness no problems

Wife had same exact issues as the OP, she complained of lag before the update so I factory reset her v20. Days later came the update and she complained of random texts not coming in, In call volume/clarity issues and random calls not going through. Monday she recieved a new warranty replacement and now she cant hear the party's on the other end very well. She will barely use her phone now, nor wants to until she recieves a new working S8+, so I don't know if her v20 has other issues.

On my end I had two V20 warranty replacements in the last 6 months for problems with my volume, the partys on other end of the line could barely hear me, it sounded like I was in a deep cave with bad reception and that's if they could hear me at all, If I used the speaker phone all was well. I had this issue with 2 phones a few months apart.

We went to AT&T to address our issues again a few days ago and we discovered the s8 was recently released. So I said screw it, let's take a hit in the wallet for sanity and reliability and pay extra to upgrade into a more reliable s8+. So far in the short time of owning the S8+ I am super happy we dumped the V20s. Well, the wife still has her recently recieved once again problematic v20, she has to wait for att to recieve the v20 she sent back before the system will clear to allow her to take home a new s8+.

I really did like the V20s design but it wasn't worth all the headaches we both had with them. It's too bad because I have sour feelings about LGs quality now. Maybe a stroke of bad luck but the problems between us both is rather odd.

Another thing, I even thought our issues may have been an odd account issue, I had att give us new sim cards, refresh our account and asked them to look for other issues on their end. . Nothing was a fix, all problems were most definitely tied to the V20. My s8 is working flawless (knocks on wood) , I hope the wife's account clears Monday so I know she is getting all my texts from my s8+ to her s8+ :)

On another note, I am still very glad I purchased my v20s from an AT&T store rather than a BestBuy like I did with my note 7s. It's so much easier for AT&T to troubleshoot issue instantly on site rather than having BestBuy going through many channels, numbers and employees trying to troubleshoot and communicate with AT&T while wasting hours of your time.

I know we got our phones around the same time... Do you mind me asking how much you had to Shell out to dump the v20 and get an s8?

Have those who have had trouble after the updates tried clearing their system cache or doing a factory data reset?

My battery life is not as good as before the update

It could be a simple matter of the update caused the software on the phone to re-index all files. You might just need to leave the phone idle for a few hours while on the charger so that the indexer finishes. Probably at night time.

So I'm back baby.lol With an unfortunate update. In the interest of honesty I have recently noticed(maybe I haven't been paying much attention before) that my battery life has plummeted drastically. I used to get 5 and 6 hour days SOT when I first got this phone. Today I'm not even sure what I'm getting cause I'm just trying to make it to the charger or employ more tricks(turn data off when not in use, etc.) to keep the battery afloat. I'm going to start checking for screen on time at the end of the day to better gauge the results. But these are my stats so far from today. Android OS and Phone Idle seem to be the main battery hogs as of late.

I think we should be able to get a new phone and not lose out dammit!
Seeing as how we're behind in updates and patches, I'll wait it out to see if the next one fixes these issues. This is the part about Android I don't like. I'm fine with being behind in updates IF everything is working just fine the way it should. But when you're behind in updates amd the last one causes issues affecting battery life and performance, those updates start to matter a whole lot more. I think the Pixel is already on version 7.1.2 and we're still on 7.0 with a system update that just ruined our great experience. Not good.

I don't know what to say because I don't have any of these issues after the updates. I've owned many different phones and this always seems to happen to some people after an update regardless of brand or model. .
