The AC Coffee Junkies thread.

re: AC Coffee Junkies thread.

I can't take credit for it. I found it online and cropped it down to just that part.

That looks like a great way to start the day

For sure! Even if it's just Netflixing. We use our PlayStation for everything. I'm more of a Nintendo enthusiast, but I do like the PlayStation. My hushand downloaded a cat game for me and the new Spider-Man! 😁

re: AC Coffee Junkies thread.

I don't see it now, but I thought there had been a discussion about reusable pods for Keurig machines. I grind beans and use this. With the paper filters, it costs more than a metal screen filter, but I don't end up with silt from the grounds in my coffee that make me gag when they hit the back of my throat. I got these at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and you can get the filters there or at Target, for between $5-6 for 50 filters.

Those little slits happen to us, too! Thank you for the recommendation!

Seems like the title change has sparked some new life into this thread. I really wish I could drink coffee again, but it doesn't like my system very well, at all. I had to stop way back in '85, while I was in the Navy. I learned the art of making Navy coffee from an old chief that taught me how to make a very perky and delicious perk. It was the rave for a couple of months, until I ended my mess cranking days.

If I couldn't drink coffee, I'd...well...I don't know what I'd do.

Maybe save a ton of money each month?

Anyone else on here a fan of the Keurig? I like it because our household has different coffee tastes, and the fact that our brewer has brew strengths and we have the variety of K Cups, anyone can make one and enjoy it. no real mess, no leftover coffee, perfect if you have a very hectic schedule.

Between me and my 17yo we drain the 12cup pot dry.

I have a Keurig for when we want a single cup, or maybe a specific roast. And a traditional slow drip that brews into a stainless steel carafe. When either one dies I am going to buy one coffee maker that has both, a full pot drip brew side and a single k-cup side.

That's a great plan to get that type of coffee maker to have both options available in one machine.

Which is the strongest of those coffees?

I had a rare 3-quart thermos in a leather holster for my coffee habit. It was stainless steel, and rode in the holster I crafted for it, that had a compartment for cream and sugar, and rode on a sling that fit beneath my raincoat or foul weather jacket.

I carried it out to the pier for guard watches, and seems everybody else tended to forgot things like coffee. I was a popular guy out there, especially on the cold winter nights. San Diego can get cold, believe it or not.

I sold that rig for $150, to another Boatswain's Mate that loved the custom BM anchors on the bottom and seafaring artwork I carved into it.
