I used to have an iPhone & one day decided I wanted something different. I got the Note 2 which was new at that time. I fell in love! I'd never go back to Apple (or crapple as some of yall say).
Then the Note 3 came out & I thought this is the best phone I've ever had! I loved the Note series & large screen even more. Plus the customization. Fast forward almost a year later & I find myself torn between the Note 4 and the Edge.
Sunday I woke up after being at CES & said to hell with it just do it. I walked into Verizon with the Note 3 and out with the Note Edge. I now feel like this is the best phone I've ever owned. I love the edge screen. It keeps my home screen clutter free. Plus night mode is awesome. The display is fantastic. I could go on.
Really there's not much to this post except I love the Note Edge & I think it's the best phone I've ever owned!

Glad you like the phone. It really is a nice phone. Those that say it's a gimmick either can't afford it or want it but don't have it. In my opinion, Samsung has set the standard to which all phones will be judged. As I type this message, my phone rang. It didn't interrupt what I was doing on the main screen because the Edge panel handled the notification for me. Add to that it's a "Note" series phone (my first one) and you have to ask yourself. How can someone really not loke this phone lol?

Posted Via Galaxy Note Edge. Yea, the phone is perfect...

The Note series is an awesome series of phones. The Edge definately adds to that. Love the new edge. No regrets

I'm wondering if I should get this or the note 4. The note 4 looks really interesting and new but I wonder how much I'd use the edge display. I'm used to the note series so I'm wondering if I should just get the note 4 as its the safer option.

You can't go wrong with either one. I started with the Note 4 and exchanged for the Edge when Verizon released it 2 weeks later. At FIRST, I had a little remorse because I had gown to love the N4 so much. But now I am in love with having all my most used apps on the side panel instead of cluttering up my screens. My home screen is minimalist and the other screens I use for a few widgets. I went from 7 screens on the N4 to 3 on the Edge.

It will be very hard for to go back to a "traditional" phone if this concept doesn't "stick".

My only complaint at this point is that most Edge forums out there aren't as busy as others. But since the Edge had the same software as the N4, I do visit N4 forums for tips and tricks.

This is my second day with the edge. I had the N2, and switched to the iPhone 5c. It feels great to be back with the note series. I am so glad I didn't go with the iPhone 6 plus.

The display is gorgeous, the battery is great, and all the other options are too many to list. I honestly haven't used the edge much yet, but like how I can access my favorite apps more quickly. I'm sure I will use it more soon. If you have a choice, I'd definitely recommend the edge.

I use the edge screen all the time. It has my favorite apps which keeps my home screen clutter free and simple. You can create folders of your favorite apps within the edge panel. Plus if I'm using the phone I can see notifications on the edge screen & keep doing what I'm doing. I'm very happy with it.

I also frequent the N4 forums as the Edge forums are quiet.

Don't you also see your notifications on the top notification tray as well? How does the edge panel really help?

Text messages and notifications come on the curved edge display. Incoming calls pop up on the edge display as well and allows you to swipe to receive or disregard. You can also access your favorite apps from the edge display as well. And the night clock you can set to come on at specific times (mine was on from 1am-8am and used 1-2% battery ). When I purchased this phone 3 days ago I had not researched it at all. I guess it's pretty much the note 4 with the extra option. But I am soooo glad I picked the note edge.

It's so nice if you're texting or browsing the Web and a call comes through it doesn't take over the main screen and just shows up on the edge. Also I have the Samsung flip cover and when it's closed and a text comes through it scrolls through the entire message on the edge screen.

Lets not forget that you do have two weeks to change your mind. I went back and forth myself. As it turned out, I got the edge for me and the Note 4 for my hubby. They are both equally beautiful but I just wanted something different as I tend to get bored easier. I honestly would have been happy with either but I don't regret my decision. The edge is a real eye catcher and conversation piece. As for the side panels, I get plenty of use out of them and they aren't just a gimmick. The panels actually take the place of the quick launch bar on the bottom but it allows you more flexibility. I say get it and give it a try. You can always exchange it for the 4 if you decide it isn't for you.

I think the edge is a gimmick because ultimately it does nothing a non edge premium device couldn't do. Howevere, it's a very useful gimmick. I don't want another non edge device at this point. If apple had introduce the edge first more ppl would have accepted it. But just like the note series, soon it will prove to be a game changer in due time. It's just a really neat concept. It's not meant to reinvent the smartphone. It's meant to give the user more flexibility and make things more convenient.

I don't think its a gimmick. It does do things a non-Edge device can't do...like give you call notifications without interrupting what you're doing. If the S6 has an Edge screen I expect that mainstream popularity will rise to the point that cases and screen protectors will be abundant via retail and that'll hook a lot of people.

Not a gimmick! It's a whole new way to use the Android OS and I am loving it. It's a game changer.
