The big question-does this phone last all day??

I have an iphone 4 now, after replacing it for my HTC desire that I had for two weeks before I couldn't stand the battery life any longer. With my HTC, I had to make sure I did not use it regularly and had to turn my brightness all the way down to 20% to get almost a full day with it. Unlike the iphone, where no matter how much I use it, it usually lasts all day. So with this phone, with moderate to hard use, does it last all day? I'm not expecting the brightness to be 100% or anything, I just like to know that I can use my phone without having to watch how much I have been using it. If not, I'll just wait till the galaxy S3 for the removable battery.. Which brings up another question, out of the two, which will have the better battery most likely? I'll probably end up going for the phone that can simply last longer.
Thanks.

I'm currently at 22 hours, 14% charge left.

almost 3 hours of screen on time.. it's an all day device for sure.

There are other threads where people are posting runtime Screen shots, so this thread is sort of redundant.

But here's proof: It lasts MORE than all day.

Been a member in crackberry land for quite sometime, and the HTC One X has me on top of the fence.
The battery life has been my only concern with this, and it seems it's pretty good. SO nonetheless I think i'm going to be picking this up in the next few weeks!
Thanks for the info on the battery!

I'm lucky to get 12 hours. I've had super heavy use since it's a new toy but was expecting better. Moving from the blackberry 9900 it isn't as good so far but I've found batteries settle in after a couple weeks use so I'm waiting a few weeks before passing final judgement

BB's last longer because they don't have half the power (dual or quad cores) and well just plain boring all you find yourself doing is emails, and bb messenger and some light social networking if you did that on the HOX it would last you 3-4 days not to dis BB because i like them i loved my 9810 but its just a messaging device not a full entertainment, messaging, baby computer like these phones. i wish we could get BB Messenger on this phone officially i would pay for that any day.

I'm getting 12-14 running Juice Defender Ultimate on "balanced". New to Android, so I may be running some apps in the background that I don't know I don't need to run. Most of the battery usage is the screen brightness.

I'm amazed at the battery life!! I am coming from an Atrix with the same size battery and this phone gets BETTER run times!! I know a lot hast to do with the S4 chip. but simply put, the battery life has far exceeded my expectations...supremely satisfied.

I am currently sitting at 27% with 14 hours 50 mins and 2 hours 50 mins screen time. This thing is a BEAST!!!

and this is on its first full charge cycle...lol

Screen uses more battery than anything else, but of course, it's a beautiful high resolution screen. Currently sitting at 86% with 16 hours 7 mins, 30 mins of screen time.

So far so good for me. I usually unplug it as around 7:30am and by about 7:30pm, I still have about 40-50%. What you need to keep in mind, however, is the following:

1. I am not in a LTE coverage area. When I do go into a LTE coverage area, the battery life is much less. Also, there is no way to turn off LTE so you are stuck with it.
2. My brightness is set to Auto. When it is on the highest, I noticed the battery discharges at a rate of 10%/hour during the same usage as any other time.

Overall, I am happy with the battery life on this phone...

A quick read through the active topics here would have shown you that battery isn't much of a question anymore. It was when reviews first started coming out, because commenters who didn't have the phone started floating around the idea that the battery in this phone was garbage.

It works great, and may even get better with future updates :D

Add me to the list of people happy with their battery life. I'm still in the first week "honeymoon phase" and I'm using my phone and/or showing it off pretty constantly, and it still makes it effortlessly through the day.

This is my first Android phone that has not had me worrying if I'll make it through the day, even with that gigantic lush & lovely screen.

I'm curious if the high battery life is because of the "not true multi-tasking" issue.. apps pause/freeze in the BG.

when I close facebook and reopen it from the app switcher, it has to reload the app. :(

Can you use " *#*#4636#*#* in the dialer and select "Phone Information" then "Set PreferredNetwork Type" like on the Thunderbolt? To turn off LTE?

If that doesn't work it can't be long before there is something available as an App.

Just tried it. You can get to the menu, but when you select any other option, it resets back to the default which includes LTE.
