That's a good tip too. Now if only I could get into using Swype. I use it for a bit and always end up back on the regular keyboard. I know I'm in the minority here.

I'm with you. I'll use Swype in portrait orientation, but prefer the default multi-touch keyboard in landscape.

if you use the Swype keyboard, swipe from the swype key (all the way bottom left) to the SYM key (just to its right). You get a ton of handy text-editing keys, including directional arrows. I rarely rely on the bullseye anymore.

I also like the swipe from Swype key to F (5 key) and it brings up the numeric pad like on a PC keyboard.

Regarding Swype: This is a bit convoluted, but I also found out you can add words with punctuation to the dictionary. For example, my girlfriend has taken to typing "muah!" since I defected from BBM, because the BB and Android smilies on Google Talk aren't compatible (Seriously, Google?!) If I type "muah" and add "!" I can then long-press, select text, and press swype. It adds "muah!" as a word, so i can swype "m-u-a-h-z" (that's the !) and get "muah!"

Hopefully that made some sort of sense.

Is there any way to quickly switch back to the multi touch keyboard from swype? I know there's a button to go the other way.

The only quick way is to long press in the text area to pull up the input selection window.
