The Coronavirus Maze-How are we navigating it today?

My doctor asked me to sign papers a few weeks ago.
Because my leukemia has been out of remission for 6 months.
If I catch the corona virus.
They can't treat me for cancer..
So if they have me on a ventilator and I'm not getting any better.
And my cancer continues to get worst.
Can they pull the plug.
This is something the hospital has them asking.
I said you can't get mebon a ventilator.
You can't stick nothing down my throat.
I will freak out.
Don't let me die.
Give me the malaria drug with azithromycin.
And get me well.
I was freaking out.

I understand some states may be able to open before others..

But look at how bad N Y. Still is.
In this Redneck town I live in.
Maybe 1 in 40 people even wear a mask.

There was a coach that got the virus about a month ago.
And 7 people under him.
People here, stay here.
They don't go to other places.
Its outsiders coming up to the country to the lake we have.

We live in a retirement community.
People that come up, are weekenders.

They will be the ones that will bring it.

if you notice, South Korea corona virus is very low.
Because they are giving out the malaria drug to people.

Is Chloroquine Behind South Korea's Super-Low Coronavirus Fatality Rate?

As the article clearly states it is based on just an anecdotal report from an South Korean actor, nothing to be taken too seriously at least for now. A lot of tests are being done with cloroquine and other treatments, better let's the experts do their job and run all the necessary tests.

Chloroquine was tested in like 1938.

I take medicines that went threw years or research, and tests.
But they have all kinds of side effects.
The side effects might not bother you.
But might kill somebody else.
So a RN administered the drug..while checking my temp, heart rate, blood pressure and everything during the whole deal..they check my blood before I get the drug.
And everytime I come back.
Checking my kidneys. Liver and everything.

Without one of these drugs.
I can't get to remission.
Or stay in remission.

So how many people need to die, waiting on them to come up with something.

One of the reports I watched suggested it's because they had a very thorough testing and isolation plan. Due to differing medical regulations, South Korea was able to get testing kits readily available. Any positive tests then resulted in more effective isolation measures. Compare that to the U.S. where testing was almost non-existent (I'm now hearing reports that 40% of COVID19 reported deaths in NYC never had a positive test, which has its own concerns). Are you going to be more willing to isolate with or without a positive test?

I also saw an interview with the South Korean ambassador to London. She said that after SARS breakout in the early 2000s, S.Korea brought in laws that allowed them to screen people's phones for everyone they had been in contact with. This made it easy to contact trace and isolate people early. Due to dealing with a similar epidemic they had all the controls and procedures in place to deal with another one. Mask wearing is compulsory and testing is charged at $140 USD to anyone who wants it and they get a refund if they test positive. Saw this on a video of an interview with the head of science for covid-19 in S. KOREA

You probably already are from what I read, but limit your exposure to anyone, wash hands and remove shoes when entering your home, and try not to dwell on the negative, it is shown to weaken the immune system.

Meanwhile here in the US the early computer models of the Corona virus spread turned out to be a tad bit overblown (I warned the public of this via social media at the beginning but people just waited for the government to admit it) and the several locked down states didn't cut down on the lockdowns (in Michigan the tyrannical governor made it so bad everyone there thinks she is a Nazi, just look on the news about some of the absurd and pointless restrictions that are implemented there). There are massive protests going on in Michigan and Texas right now, with people waving Gadsden flags (the "Don't Tread on Me" flags) all over the place while screaming at their town halls.

I wouldn't call the governer of Michigan who is democratically elected and has done everything legally "tyrannical"....terms like those are for people like our 'dear leader' in North Korea.

You may disagree with the lockdown, but so far it seems to be one of the few effective tools at reducing the spread of the virus and saving lives. A whole lot of heavily armed militiamen close together yelling whilst waving confederate flags isn't doing anybody any good (they could be spreading the virus)...large gatherings are ill-advised according to the WHO and other medical organisations.

If you watched the actual press conference and not just the biased media reports trying to spin his words, you'd see he never suggested injecting Lysol or similar, not even sarcastically. If anyone actually did that (and I know if one case where a couple drank fish tank cleaner with all the hydroxychloriquin[sp?] talk), then it's Darwinism at work pure and simple. If anyone is you blame for suggesting that, it's the media.

We have a shelter in place order, social distancing rules, and all that stuff down here, but literally nobody follows it. I'm essential so I'm out and about everyday, and am constantly seeing people joyriding on their motorcycles, normal amounts if not more traffic, people just going about their normal lives. I mean all nonessential stores are closed, schools are closed so I can't even figure out where all these people are going.

Stay safe everyone.
Maybe just a joyride? If that's it, I can understand. Especially if you have a bike or a car like a Mustang or Camaro.

Here's the full transcript of Trump's comments:

"So I asked Bill a question some of you are thinking of if you're into that world, which I find to be pretty interesting. So, supposing we hit the body with a tremendous, whether its ultraviolet or just very powerful light, and I think you said, that hasn't been checked but you're gonna test it. And then I said, supposing it brought the light inside the body, which you can either do either through the skin or some other way, and I think you said you're gonna test that too, sounds interesting.

*And I then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute, and is there a way you can do something like that by injection inside, or almost a cleaning. Because you see it gets in the lungs, and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. *

So it'd be interesting to check that. So you're going to have to use medical doctors, but it sounds interesting to me, so we'll see. But the whole concept of the light, the way it goes in one minute, that's pretty powerful."

I am not a Trump supporter but I think it is disgusting when people twist what a person says for their own agenda.

A bit more detail here, including a follow-up question from a reporter specifically about this.

Exactly. Those people protesting are looking for any excuse to do so so they can waive their guns around and act like it’s 1820. The refusal to wear protective masks at events like this says everything.

The fact he talks about these things with absolutely zero experience says it all. Act like a president.

Again, watch the video or read the transcript. He was discussing things they are looking into, not saying definitively that something works. Nothing wrong with considering ideas and bouncing them off your medical advisors. If you are basing your opinion on how much experience he has on the subject, then none of us here should be discussing the virus. It's a straw man argument.

He is the president, he should not be “knocking around” suggestions that have anything to do with medical knowledge. To compare this forum to a presidential press conference is a reach in my opinion. He should come on, give an update with proven statistics (number of cases in last 24 hours, how many tests have been performed, etc) and let the MEDICAL EXPERTS answer questions.

I am, in no way, blaming him for people who inject Lysol. I do hold him accountable for the way he uses Twitter and COVID press conferences for his personal political forum. I do not see how this is helping the country in any way.

Then we'll have to agree to disagree, as I consider good leadership to include thinking out of the box and proposing ideas for the experts to consider. Not every idea has merit, be it something from the President, or a CEO that wants to explore a new business venture.

You really believe that thinking about using a disinfectant cleaner like Lysol to cleanse inside the body is something a leader of a country should suggest? That is not thinking outside the box, that is stupidity. One thing you are correct about, we disagree.

We will make it through this crisis despite lack of leadership. I hope we learn from our mistakes and become a better world because of it.
