Well let me first properly introduce myself then explain the heading tag.
My name is Jeff - I am 29 as of March 6th - living in Ocala, fl (thats about an hour north of Orlando and Tampa) - have a beautiful live-in girlfriend going on 2.5years who shares my love of gaming, mmo/rpg/fps all of it. I am a good catch and resonablely attractive and she is still at least 2 leagues beyond me, sometimes the funny guy wins. I work for B&N selling nooks and do a lot of PC building on the side.
So here it is. In 2003 I was taken on a con by my (supposed gf) and a roomate for everything I owned, bank accounts drained, cards maxed, one of those "it never happens in real life" things. While I have been fixing all of this over the years I have not had a cell phone or even a house phone due to money and credit issues. Once I got back on my feet I just didn't get back to having a phone. I used skype or gmail calling or various other IM services to text/call anyone i needed but was always homebound and people could not call me.
My girlfriend recently started working for AT&T (booooo) at a call center here about 6 months ago. A co-worker somehow got 2 New android 2.2 Samsung Captivates and sold the pair of them to her for $500 total last night. She gets 2 employee plans for free (-unlimited text and internet which she added for 30$ each). So we now both have a new phone, pay 75$ between the 2 of us after taxes for all the features, and are not on any contract since we got the phones outright and use her EM plan.
Which brings me to you all. I have no idea what I am doing here or with this phone. I will have it all activated later today and have a lot to learn. I feel like this is a great time to get back into the swing of things with phones and can't wait to read all the advice and info you can provied me. I know going into this that AT&T captivate blocks 3rd party apps and I have been reading ways around that but anything else please let me know.
