The G2's battery lasts longer than the Droid Maxx? (Says Engadget)

The same thing happened with me. I got the Gnex when it came out. Huge mistake. After about a year with that I got the Razr Maxx HD and I could have been happier up until now with it starting to lag tremendously bad. I'm looking to upgrade and I love the G2 but an very curious if the battery will be enough for me. I would say I'm a moderate user, mainly a few phone calls, probably 100 texts a day, and some games or car news for an hour or so. It seems like the G2 would last me the day (which is really all I want).

Depending on all the usual variables when it comes to battery drain (number of apps pinging data or updating location, screen brightness, etc.) you can easily get 24 hours of heavy use out of the G2. More with moderate use.

So yeah, the G2 would most likely get you through your day with room to spare.

I'd say you'd have no problem with the G2 battery.

I got my G2 Friday night, so now that its had a good 3-4 battery cycles, the battery life I am getting is insane. Prior to plugging it into the charger this morning, I was at just under 26 hours on the battery, with 6 hours of screen time. This was was moderate usage. I normally am a pretty heavy user, so I doubt I see those numbers often. However, if I can get a solid 16 hours out of it, thats enough to get through the longer days. Im satisfied with that.

I was annoyed with my LED issues and couldn't get over wondering if the badge was greener on the other side so I picked up a Droid Maxx. I now have both and will only keep one. After a 10h shift in the ER my G2 was pretty consistently around 65%. Today after my same 10h shift on the Maxx I was only down to 85%. Use may have been just slightly less, but not by much. That's a pretty significant difference. I'll try and push it a little harder tomorrow.

But I'm assuming you weren't having battery issues with the G2, so aren't you focusing on the LED issues you had? My logic being that if the G2 got you comfortably through a day and the Maxx was better still, it shouldn't be a biggie that the Maxx had better battery life. Now if the Maxx is decidedly better with whatever your LED issues were, and that's important to you, then that's a potentially deciding factor.

True, I wasn't having battery issues. I just kind of always wondered if the Maxx was really that much better. There seemed to be conflicting reports. With an N=1 (day) it is significantly better. The G2 batter is certainly likely good enough. Its just that the Maxx is better. The LED issue just helped push me a little bit to try it.
