The Gear VR will work with all S10 variants.

More the question seems do these displays have the same annoying screen door.

With essentially the same resolution and larger screen, netting a small reduction in pixel density, the screen door effect isn't likely to be any better. Probably end up looking about the same as an S8 or S9.

Presuming same pentile tech, that would probably be correct.

The article says it'll need an adapter, I already have the VR headset from the S8 anyone know if we can get this in store?

I'm betting the S10 re-uses the same adapter that the S8 uses, given they are virtually the same size phone.

My S9 has a pixel density of 570dpi, with the S10 at 550dpi and S10+ at 522dpi, will I notice a difference? With the S10+ in particular will this result in a loss of resolution or increased screen-door-effect?
I am planning in pre-ordering the S10 and S10+. I'd use them for VR but also AR with ALVR and ALVR-ARCore and for AR the S10+ with its improved vapor chamber cooling would stay cooler and perform better and for longer sessions before getting hit with thermal throttling of the CPU.
On the other hand most of my Gear VR use will remain VR and it seems the graphic quality might be better with the S10, isn't it?
Thank you for your inputs and clarifications?

The main issue is the pentile dots. They trump phone resolution issue, since effectively reduce resolution even further. Where you see dots should be image, but pentile tech causes the dots. No previous pentile tech should mean much better image quality.
