Downloaded it today. Hands down the smoothest and least buggy of them all. Nothing negative to report. This thing is snappy.

Yep, my phone has never been smoother on a stock OS. Can't wait for the custom ROMs to rebase to the global.

Does it fix the WiFi issues? Damn phone. Wifi shuts off overnight sometimes leaving me with a dead battery in the morning if I don't plug it in since the signal at my house sucks. Really hoping it has the wifi fix. If so then I will running the RUU tonight.

I was not aware of the WiFi Sleep issue... have changed the settings in WiFi to Keep WiFi on during sleep Always and tick on Best WiFi Performance?

Anyway, the global RUU is known to fix for most users:

1. Battery high temperature and overheating issues
2. Battery drain issue (battery life is significantly improved)
3. 3G/4G and WiFi disconnect issues
4. Google Map issue
5. Lag in system UI
6. Data "stall" issues
7. Lockup/reboot issues
8. Skype video call color issues

It's a setting HTC put into place with the ICS updates. The process is called snartsync and from midnight to 7am it shuts off data after 15 minutes or so.

Perfect... because everyone actually sleeps during the "night"... I give this one a Fail for HTC!

I understand that they had some issues with Power/Sleep mode early in the ICS testing process so they pulled them, but why couldn't they give us some control of these settings, even if limited from what we had before.

Also guessing that installing this RUU will wipe all my data and I will be starting from scratch?

This ruu is applied just like the others and it will wipe data.

It did not wipe out any of my data. The update process is slightly different, be sure to follow the instructions. I think a lot of those, that had problems, did not follow the instructions.

I was referring to http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...lobal-capabilities-installation-instructions/ The .1 leak was an update, and, did not wipe out my data. The .2 release is a full RUU, and, will wipe out data.

Please forgive my question as a lot of you will probably think its stupid. Anyway, with this download, will my phone need to be rooted or can it be done completely stock?

Wiped everything on mine but the sd card...just like the other ones...interesting.

Stock Internet Browser : JavaScript Weirdness

So I posted the following on XDA, but since this thread is active, I figure I'll give it a try here.

I think I might possibly have identified what could be a bug in the 4.03.605.2 RUU.. Anyone having any JavaScript issues in the stock browser? I've been observing odd refresh/paint display behavior that seems to occur only on sites using JavaScript. Problems go away when disabling JavaScript, but unfortunately that also cripples the browser. I'm wondering if I need to reflash the RUU, but before I go that far I'd like someone to see if they can confirm it's an issue.

Steps to reproduce the JavaScript problem in the stock internet browser:
- Any site (mobile or full) that uses the Facebook social plugin for comments. (m.bgr.com is one. I know.. I know.)
- Click on "see more" on any comment that's truncated for length.
- Nothing happens. Until you scroll.. then the full comment appears.

Another example:
- i.autoblog.com. Go to comments for any article. Change view/sort from "Newest" to "Oldest".
- Again, change is not displayed until you scroll.

The stock internet browser is also having trouble calling up the keyboard for comment and password entry on a number of sites like android central forums and others, including this one. As you might imagine, these display and keyboard issues also make mobile banking a rather annoying PITA.

My Rezound is fully stock, S-On, and not rooted. Never flashed anything but leaked RUUs. Started with 3.14.605.10, then .12, and now this one via HBOOT as per the previous leaks. If it's just me, then I'll just factory reset and flash the RUU again. If not, then I can always wait for the next leak. Aside from the internet browser oddity, everything else works awesome. Thank you kindly in advance to anyone who can take the time to verify - it is appreciated. :)

I remember this question coming up in another thread: http://forums.androidcentral.com/verizon-htc-rezound/181045-ics-leak.html#post1860657

To your question about needing to have root to flash a leak, the answer is no. A leak comes from the phone maker and is sent to the carrier for approval. Because rooting is not supported anywhere along official line, the software is written expecting to be installed on a fully stock phone. Installing a leak if you have root almost always breaks root, because HTC and Verizon are certainly not going to push out rooted software. ;)

You should be good to go so long as you're fully stock. :)

Cool, thanks. That was a good explanation. One more question I have though is if i were to download that leaked RUU, would it effect or prevent the ability to do any OTA updates in the future?

Click the link in my previous post - that question comes up immediately in response. :)
