Just got my thunderbolt

I have a really stupid question though. After the screen lockout period, the only way I am able to get the phone back is if I tap the power button. I tried tapping on the screen and hitting the buttons, but to no avail. Is the only way to get back to the phone after the lockout period to hit (not hold) the power switch?

Plug your phone in to your computer via usb cable. Pull down notification bar and select disk drive. Then drag and drop.

Some 3rd party launchers have this feature built in but not stock Sense. The easiest way is through root. Once rooted, there are apps in the market that allow you to do this.

There are apps for it. The one I am most familiar with is widget locker. This app allows you to fully customize your lockscreen but also gives you the option to set touch capacities buttons as unlock keys.

Best way to stop an app

I have a task manager that kills apps, but probably also kills my battery as it is constantly running. Is there an easier way to stop apps without going into settings/applications and then selecting what I want to stop?

Just let the Android system do its job. It has its own app management system in place. But if you just have to kill them right away and don't want to go through settings, then task manager is the way to go.

how do you set a custom wallpaper and get it to fit on the screen? weather setting it to only the main screen on stock launcher (sense) or when using another launcher, and locking the wallpaper in place, the set as wallpaper optoin crops the heck out of the image... help?

With the stock keyboard, no since it has the drop keyboard button. But most 3rd party keyboards have this feature. Just swipe down on the keyboard and it will drop.

Does this mean you cannot use the Mic when the headphone jack is used?

I tried it during a call, and unfortunately, unlike with the Droid X that CAN use a headphone during a call, the Thunderbolt can't seem to do that, unless I'm not selection an option somewhere..

delete a downloaded pdf..

Here's one I couldn't figure out. I downloaded a PDF file to my phone and now I want to delete it. How can I do that without downloading an app or connecting my phone to my computer?

While in your browser hit menu then more then downloads long press the off in question and the option will come up to open or delete it.

my phone connects through my car stereo through bluetooth. is there anyway to toggle the bluetooth on and off while I'm on a call? there are occasions when i don't want the person sitting in the car with me to listen to my conversation.

downloads..

Can someone tell me where to find my downloads on the phone. I can see them right after I download them but afterwords I cannot find them on the phone. My facinate had a folder called "files" I could go in and find them. I can't see to find them on the TBolt. I had to plug into my computer to find them but I'm sure there is a place to find them on the phone itself.

In your browser hit menu then more then downloads. Entire history of downloads will be there long press an item and you will get the option to open or delete.

Yes, while in the call, look at the call screen and hit the button next to the mute button (looks like bluetooth symbol) it will drop down a list. Select your device and the call will be routed through the handset.

Thanks Ronin. I had already cleared my downloads list so I wasn't able to delete the file. But I'll make sure not to clear the list in the future so I can delete my files.

Hi I am new to Android I am coming from a Storm 2. Is there a way to log into google talk. I logged out yesterday and now every time I try to pull it up nothing happens?
