The HTC One will be a hit, pass Galaxy S4 for ONE reason..

Listen I gave HTC two tries in the past with phones and they both blew, the One, the only thing I like about it is the front speakers other then that I already see they are having build issues with what I see on reviews, it does not have a removable battery which is a big thing I think and REALLY??? No expandable memory. No thank you. Dont get me wrong I am not buying the S4 but only because I just got the S3 in late December and I am going to wait for the Note 3 after my year contract is over.

BTW I have dropped my S3 a dozen times now and not one problem with it. dropped the one iphone I had once and it shattered the glass.

Expandable storage and removable battery is useless. btw the iPhone 5 beat the S3 in drop tests so I don't know what you are talking bout.

Expandable storage is useless? Really? How can you even say that?

And all the current generation phones (Samsung, htc and apple) are susceptible to screens being shattered on a drop.

It's not useless, it's just not rational to expect companies to go out of their way to support legacy concepts. If they do, great.

It's definitely not; there is clearly still a market for it with people who clamor for it. That won't stop it's extinction, but it'll slow it while companies cater to that subset. I just don't think we should be angry at those that choose to evolve.

If by evolving you mean taking my 80 gigs of storage down to 32 or less than no thank you I'll stay in the stone age. Every premium phone on every carrier should be able to have 64 gigs at least.

With internal storage getting so cheap I'm not sure why OEMs don't go over the top with 256 or more. Might add .5mm?

I just upgraded from the Galaxy S2 to the One. With my S2, I had 2 extra batteries. It was nice having the freedom to swap out batteries but I only had to use this maybe 5-times in the past 18-months. Still, it was nice having the ability to if needed. I also have an envelope full of micro sd cards but after having many of them fail over the years, I found myself evolving to more cloud based services which are more reliable for what I need.
I do kinda miss the ability to swap out batteries and expand my storage needs but it was never a dealbreaker for me. Upgrading to the HTC One in it's entirety was totally worth the trade off over battery/storage.

That's fine by me. I don't see the need for it and neither do many other people. Although I take back my comment on removable batteries, that could be useful.

Most of the space taken up on my device is from apps which can't be placed on the sd card anyway and they hinder performance. Plus stuff like music, pictures, and videos are much more conveniently accessed from the cloud.

And removable batteries I don't care about. The only plus is being able to replace it after a year or so with a new one, but in all there years I've owned phones, only 2 did I ever take advantage of swapping out through out the day (blackjack and blade) and it was always a pain trying to keep the 2 batteries charged. I do wish more companies would do what Motorola did though with the RAZR maxx.

Not everyone always has access to cloud storage. And like I said if 64 gigs internal is always an option it's not as big of a deal, but that hadn't been the case.

Well the iPhone 4S/5 and HTC One come in 32GB and 64GB models thats a lot of space. Don't forget next year phones will have 128GB of internal storage.
