The HTC One will be a hit, pass Galaxy S4 for ONE reason..

Nope. Some of the apps on my N4 are **** ugly. and Flipboard got updated on iOS first.

Android hasn't surpassed iOS for me.(although they are equal)

I was referring to the features Android phones have over iOS.....not just app appearance and what gets updated first. Who cares about that lol, but yes iOS was left in the dust years ago. It kina scratched back with Siri but we all know how that goes ;-) and imessage will go along to history as well when Babel comes out.

Haha... I really hope that iOS 7 will be a massive upgrade, but these rumors come out every year. 'Exciting', 'completely rethink', 'our best ever', 'so innovative', and things like that are so common and so overused, but it does kinda work I guess.
No that was Apple themselves. no rumor saids it would be a revamp. but now rumors are saying it will be so I believe that.

I care about polish.
oh and everyone I know uses iMessage so babel wont be useful for me.

Yeah apparently iOS 7 is gonna be a massive upgrade so I can't wait till WWDC

I don't see myself going back to iOS ever but as a long time iphone user since the beginning I'm pretty excited/curious as well.

I can see my self going back, I don't use many of Androids features that everyone touts like the file system apps or side loading. you could call me a light user and for me iOS does the work most of the time(for me)

On the other hand getting the N4 and using Android was incredible to some one like me that loves to customise the hell out of their phones.

It doesn't hurt that I'm now used to the note's size and would hate to go back to the small screen.

I haven't seen much in the way of specifics of what iOS 7 is supposed to bring, but from what I have seen it really seems to be catching up to Ice Cream Sandwich, or at least 65% of the way. Expected to add NFC (3rd time in a row for this rumor), streaming music, mobile payment system (for some reason not going with any of the existing options, going with their own... again), a UI update (not overhaul, just update apparently) and a little more customization options for users.

Am I missing something? The iPhone 5 did catch up to 2011 devices in hardware, except the screen (beautiful screen, but too small and low pixel count by modern standards). Now they're going to catch up most of the way to 2011 on the software side of things.

Maybe 2014 or 2015 to see a 5" 1080p display on top of a 2ghz or so quadcore with 2gb RAM and software that allows for easy cross-platform communication, regardless of what eco-system they invest in?

I'm not saying Apple is bad or the iPhone is bad, etc. I'm saying they need a game changer and to stop trying to play catchup. In 2011 when they were passed, they stood still and didn't respond until a year later. A plateau is not our friend.

No it's an over haul to iOS

Also iOS does not need 2GB of RAM and a quad core processor neither do android phones, manufacturers are just stupid by maximising the hardware like that.
My N4 is just as smooth as my IP5

I agree it's overkill for most of what we do with these devices, most apps don't touch the functionality and our phones are better than many laptops used to be. At this point it's basically crossing the I's and dotting the T's to get everyone using high end hardware together, that way people don't say, "ooo, quad core!" as a differentiator. The only other option is educating the public... not worth trying.

Which is why I am trying to say the IP5 is still very much a 2012/ early 2013 flagship.

Have you seen any leaked details or specifics of what that means? I imagine they're trying to keep as much of it a surprise as possible until June.

Jony ive is in charge of soft ware and hardware all I'm gonna say is expect a major UI overhaul. Also Tim Cook listens to the customers so we will definitly see more then just minor tweaks and such.

You can chalk it up to inefficiency of apps or bloat of the os but the evo suffered from only having one gig of ram.

And it all depends on what you're doing, gaming has come a long ways on phones and takes advantage of newer hardware.

I agree with the larger point though. I don't feel any need for an octacore at the moment

Which is why I keep on saying the iPhone 5 specs are not out dated at all. The 4S dual core processor came close to beating the international S4 quad core processor and the iPhone 5's dual core processor beat the quad core S3.
Of course bench marks aren't everything and the S4 will crush the iPhone 5 in bench marks(thanks to the A15 quad core processor)

I may be mistaken, but I haven't see any games(besides infinity blade on iOS and Asphalt 7 on iOS and android) use the GPU and CPU to the max.

Have you used the One? It's fast as ****

It will be just as smooth as the iPhone 5 and Nexus 4, I don't see your point?

I Think that point is u keep mentioning iPhone 5 in an android forum where EVERYONE knows iPhones are outdated in software tech......lol
Yea I'll put android 2.3 in my gs3, let's see how fast that is! Hahaha....
