WatI have a new LG G4, serial number starts 602 - I have had it two days and it is already in bootloop. I'm pretty sure it is NOT yet safe to assume the problem is fixed on new phones.
Hi,
I'm new here, and am one of the unlucky few who has the bricking problem. Mine is a 509. I will be bringing my device to the service center in my country to get it fixed, and from what I read, the motherboard requires replacing. My questions are, around how long would the phone be with LG to get the problem fixed, and if any data will be wiped. My main concern is that my data will be wiped, for I only manually backup my phone once in a long while, and my WhatsApp chat logs (which are dear to me) are not backed up. Don't worry, I've learnt my lesson, but I haven't been able to backup anything because, I can't, obviously. Thanks in advance!
Your data will get wiped. Also, I think the expected turnaround is about two weeks though I think in reality it takes longer. And if you've been reading, I'm sure you've heard a few horror stories.
You should try the freezer trick. It's worked for many.
So it will definitely get wiped?!
I don't plan to get it replaced. Yet. I'm trying the freezer trick now.
Aww boo. Thanks anyway!!
Add mine to the list. S/N 505. VZW. What pissed me off is my SD card went bad the other day. Got a warranty replacement for that, but am now wondering if the two are connected.
At least VZW acknowledged its a phone issue and didn't turn it in against my insurance. Booting up my old Galaxy S4. Glad I held onto it...
Aww boo. Thanks anyway!!
Freezer trick does NOT work on my phone. It's official.
