The LGV20 is an incredible phone!

Re: Am I missing something?

I honestly have gone to an iPhone about 10 times in the last year. It always lasts about 3 hours (basically the time it takes me to set it up lol) and then I miss Android.

I've finally swore off iOS and have given all of my Iphone's away to family members. I always keep a couple of 5's laying around for backups.....Again for family members.

iOS and I just don't agree.

I have my Note 5, LG V20 and soon I'll have my OP3t. I'm really looking to see how the 3t stacks up against the LG since I'm really liking it.

Re: Am I missing something?

At my local Demoulas (big box grocery) never had reception b4. Do now. Only shows 1 bar 4g but everything working fine posting on Twitter, watching Youtube, etc. Same in a restaurant I visit weekly. Used to have to use their open wifi. which I hate to do. LTE now. I really like this phone.

VPNs my friend. VPNs. Though it has a tendency to slow the data speeds even more down unless the place actually has a decent setup.

Re: Am I missing something?

When you said you hated to use public wifi I assumed you didn't like the lack of security.
Oh I do. I thought you were suggesting using vpn to solve problem I no longer have.

Still, how do you use vpn on open network? I thought only Nexus phones had that built in?

I've used opera VPN. You can get it off the play store. Just download it and follow the setup and push connect when on public networks or questionable networks.

A VPN can be used at any time. Nexus phones simply auto connect to a VPN when they auto connect to an open wifi network. That's the only difference.

I am like you though..I'd rather just use my LTE than hunt down a wifi network and use a VPN.

And with T-Mobile's enlightened roaming policies and data stash policies, I'd just as soon use my phone for simple but sensitive stuff, even internationally.

Hm?

Re: Am I missing something?

Following your comment on preferring to use a cell network in some instances rather than wifi---TMO does not charge extra for data roaming internationally. It's included with your normal data plan (which in turn allows you to roll over unused data and thus accumulate quite a bit...). Of course, internationally, you may only get 3g--so it has to be something simple. That's not when I want to download a 936 mb movie from Comcast.
