the "me" contact card

I made a contact card for myself so that my photo would show up in txt messages, but for some reason it won't.

any suggestions?

i've pulled the battery, reloaded the photo...nothing. ack.

You have to do it from the "My Contact Card", not just making one for yourself.

I know on my MT4G there was already a Me Contact Card on the phone and that was where I had to add the picture in order for a picture to show for my side of text conversations. It might be that the LG isn't set up that way...I'll have to play with mine a bit to figure it out and I'll let you know what I find if that isn't the case

yeah i created my own and searched for a preloaded one. no dice. hmm...

I think I got the solution

Go click on the phone make yourself a contact. Then look for your contact and hold finger on it. Then select edit. Take photo and then go back to your contact list. Find yourself and hold on to and select "text contact". You should be done. Now send yourself a text and you got it. It worked for me.

By the way am new to smart phones. I just got a Galaxy S and then exhanged for the G2x. Much better phone and I dig it so much!!! Am still learning all about smartphones and Android, so bare with me.

yeah when i txt myself it shows up but not when i text other people. bah...

Ok so I think I've figured it out because the picture I had on my contact card on my my touch is now on my G2X. The contact is called MyProfile and if you add the picture on that contact card you should have your picture show up when you text people. Hope that helps!

actually the TMO guy and i figured out that for some reason my phone wasn't recognizing my phone number. so he fixed it and now it works!
