The Nexus 6 is the best android flagship phone you can buy.

You know I've had both the nexus 4 and 5 loved them both but the 6 is just way too big. And even after all these generations they still don't have a decent camera! I'm hoping that this year's Nexus is back down to the 5 inch form factor

Nah. 4 & 5 too small now that I made friends with the big shamu!

You guys convinced me. Gonna go down to the store and hold one in hand to see how it feels in person. Don't know if it's buy one at this point with a new Nexus not too far away. For now my S6 and my back up iPhone 6 should hold me over

I understand the hesitation seeing as though there could be a new Nexus coming soon. But there are a lot of advantages to getting the Nexus 6 right now. First, the hardware issues like the back plate coming off and/or lettering coming off seem to have been taken care of. You don't know what kind of hardware issues are going to plague the first batch of 2015 Nexus phones. Also, there are an abundance of accessories available now for the Nexus 6. One of the things that bothered me about getting a device that has just released was the paucity of accessories and when you could find some, there were no reviews on them. So you had to blindly purchase them and figure out if they worked well for you after the fact. Also the Nexus 6 is cheaper now. If you can handle the size, you are going to love this phone. As someone who buys phones like others buy clothes, I can tell you that this is my favorite smartphone and I have had some great devices over the years.

Another good thing about the N6 is that it's from Motorola. Motorola's build is fantastic and the radio is by far the best I have used.
1-Motorola
2-Apple
3-LG
4-Samsung

I really like the camera on my Nexus 6. So I'm not sure what your issues are but I like mine.

Answer: You along with Ed are obviously fine with a mediocre camera during a period where Samsung and Apple have stepped up their game in smartphone cam quality.

I don't think it's mediocre.

I don't think it's mediocre, either. I've gotten some absolutely beautiful pictures with it - some even of my rambunctious almost 3 year old daughter who doesn't sit still. Is it as good as the S6? No. But it is far beyond capable of getting a great shot. My only issue has been the speed of opening the camera - sometimes it could use to be a wee bit faster.

Can I also say this about the Nexus 6? And this is something I just noticed a few days ago. I have been putting my phone on the brightest setting because it is easier to see when outside. Well, I haven't taken it off yet and today, I just got home at 10:30pm. Left this morning at 6:30am. I have had my phone on 100 percent brightness all day and still have 30 percent left. My battery life is awesome.

Now a days having a top 5 camera makes it mediocre. My daughters all have iPhone 6 my wife has Note 4 just back from Disney. We did a photo display on a 50 inch 1080p TV. Quality of all these pictures was amazing no way to tell who took what nor did anyone care people need to stop reading reviewers comments and enjoy them fact that cellphone cameras are amazing.

Here's my take on cell phone cameras. Yes there are ones better than others (S6, iPhone 6+, G4) but for what 99% of the population uses the photos for, any decent phone today will do. Most people are only using these photos on Instagram, Facebook, and other social media. They are not blowing them up and printing them. So yes, some cameras are better than others when zoomed in but rarely anyone does that in real life situations.

Keep in mind I said most. There is still a small % of the population who use them outside of showing on a cellphone/tablet/computer screen and social media but for most people even phones like the Moto X have good enough cameras for what they use them for.

With all that being said, the Nexus 6 camera performs amazingly for showcasing photos on devices and on social media.

IMHO, if you want the best smart phone experience get the Nexus 6. If the camera experience is your concern, get a Lumia 1020 or LG G4. :p

Personally I have no use for the walled garden or the lag-fest experience. :D

This is my cat trying to get to some basil on the top of my daughter's kitchen. It was taken early morning with just dusk light coming in. This was on HDR+, but I don't see where this picture sucks. And I've used an S6 and 6 Plus extensively.

Mod Note - A few posts have been cleaned. Let's stay away from the personal attacks & trolling. It isn't needed for a civil discussion.

Thanks!

The camera struggles at low light shots when pitted against the S6 and IPhone 6+. Average grade cam which you can find on just about any phone.
