The Nexus Prime... Is this going to be the actual name?

I still think it's going to be "Galaxy Nexus." Samsung has a lot invested in the Galaxy Brand and this phone kept them from running the GS2 on Verizon. Also if this was named Droid there would then be 3 duel core high end Droid phones competing against each other with the Droid HD on the way.

If that's true then why was the nexus s not called the galaxy nexus?

I want to clear up something that I think a lot of you are missing. Google choses who gets to make a nexus phone, hardware manufacturers bid to be chosen for it and whoever makes the hardware accepts that it is Google's phone. The manufacturer can release a variant of the design under their own name (HTC Desire is basically the nexus one internally) but a nexus phone is not a Samsung nexus or a HTC nexus its a Google nexus. I expect that Samsung will very soon after the Prime comes out bring out a similar phone with touchwiz. The Droid branding is a slightly different matter. In the US the carriers have much more power then in the rest of the world, so it is possible that Verizon could strongarm google but I don't think Google would be happy with that. I guess it might come down to how much google wants this phone on verizon. Personally as i live in the UK I shall be getting a gsm version anyway.

No one is "missing" anything. There have been 2 Nexus phones. None have been heavily branded. While you could be right, it wouldn't be surprising if there were a change.

Well technically the GSII LTE HD is Samsung's version of the Prime. Pretty much the same specs put into a GSII body, while keeping the Exoynos processor.
