As you can see ive had this problem too. Samsung wont help.
Click on it and you'll be able to read it.Can't read that. It's too small.
In regards to this topic, I read this thread before I got my Note 8. Once I opened my Note 8, I saw what people were referring to and looked it up. I've read that we are seeing is light from the OLED panel refracting off of the metal frame. Not sure how accurate this is, but since I have my phone in a case 24/7, I've completely forgotten about it.

So basically my phone probs my doesn't have enough adhesive and the glue between the screens. But for now while I wait for the new note 8 I will be rocking this without a screen protector
I had the s8 plus and didn't notice it. Of course I didn't even look for it on the note 8 until I saw this thread. Now I see it on every one I look at smh. Wish I had just never noticed it lol.
it's disappointing because of what happened last year As a consumer I expect a product that's like this to be hastle free. The fact that they admitted it to me is even worse I'm glad they did but is still very very disappointing. Even now right now as I use it I can see the light protruding on the left side and the side. The more I look at it the more noticeable it is lol. I might just #Note8EdgesLeakage
Yeah it's no big deal as long as I get another one which is not bad because now 2 chargers into headphones. And since it's gonna be a different serial number for the phone I'm pretty sure I'll be able to do the freebies again
Hi im facing the same issue. It didn't occurred early. On right side of my note 8 there is lightning coming out... wat should i do?
For goodness sake, it's just light reflecting due to the curved glass. Every curved display phone has this.
Why do people like making an issue where there is none!?
Head to your carrier, explain it to them, if purchased from Samsung, contact them and explain it to them you're not happy because you think this may effect the waterproofing.
I guarantee if it's carrier purchased, no light will emit from the seams. Get the technician and compare phones.
Tell them you want a replacement without paying a deductable. I know someone who got a new phone and not a rebuilt phone. I can tell you, if you truly aren't happy, then let them have it.
Had it on my S7 Edge and Note8 and both still fine when submerged in water. That is not light reflecting you have no idea what you're talking about.
It's not an issue at all. My S7 Edge had this to. People are overreacting over nothing.View attachment 270315
This was posted at xda developers. There are a lot of people talking about it over there. Apparently Samsung doesn't consider it an issue or considers it to be something that's within tolerance. I have two Note 8s and both of them have it along the edges, mostly all along the left edge. Speculation is that it doesn't have to do with a space between the body of the phone and the screen. It's an issue with the black at the base of the screen not going all of the way to the bottom of the screen. Originally, I was planning on exchanging them. People over there have said that this has been an issue since the first curved Samsung screen came out. It seems like a pretty common issue and given that I got two from two different locations and they both have them, I'm just throwing a case on it and forgetting about it. It's annoying now. Let's see if I even remember it is there a month from now, especially with it in a case. It is not really visible when in a case that has good edge covering.
