Thought I was the only one. I have severe light leak toward the bottom left corner of my phone. I wonder if I should use Samsung premium service and get it replaced. Based on what everyone is saying, this is not a defect. Is there a possibility that the phone is no longer water resistant?

If sent from carrier, just go to the local store. That's pretty noticeable and they can compare to their in store units if not. I'd say they'd exchange it right away-and if they don't have any in store yet, then get another shipped out to you asap. Samsung doesn't want ANY issues being reported with this phone!

I have this issue and asked them to replace it, because I bought my phone brand new and not refurbished! Why would I want to spend so much money on refurbished phone! They refused to replace and gave me an option of repair! Who would want to get their brand new phone open? I was very disappointed with both the lady's I talked to and the Samsung! I love my note 8, if it didn't have this issue!

After my intensive email to Samsung with pictures they admitted it was a defective Device. I told them after last year's debacle with the note 7 this is unacceptable. They said it's a delaminatin gissue with the Screen. I knew I was right something was off it's clear the Metal chassis is is protruding. I already called Sprint and they're sending me a brand new one all I have to do is return this 1 once I get the return key.

I requested to sprint and they directed me to Samsung and when I requested samsung to replace my device, as I need brand new device that I paid for and not the repaired one! They refused to replace it and told me that only option I have is to sent it for repair! I don't have a phone while having a lot of interview calls! Just because I received the defective piece, it became my fault and not theirs!

I've found a pretty simply solution to this issue. Get yourself some of the glue that's included in the Dome Glass screen protectors. I know they sell similar stuff on amazon, it's UV glue or something, I'd make sure ppl talk about using it to glue on smartphone screens. Since the stuff has a really low surface tension, it sucks itself into any tiny crevices, which include the tiny concave space between the frame and the screen. This stuff blocks the light from leaking, and it's just more glue, which they used to glue the screen on in the first place.

You can use the UV light on it to cure it, or just leave it. since it's such a small amount exposed to the air it it will dry on it's own. The thing I used to hold the glue was super stuck to something the next day and I didn't use the UV light on that, so the stuff does air dry.

I noticed this when I put on my dome glass screen protector and the part where the glue spilled over had no light leaking anymore.

I almost freaked out the other day. I saw light leakage on both sides of my blue note8 that wasn't there before but I realized it is my glass screen protector I put on recently. Lol. Silly me🙃😊

I bought my note8 Just after Xmas. I took my case off today and just noticed the same issue. I'll be taking it back to get this sorted. Not cool.

This is why I'm getting that S9 plus it was in me that It doesn't mean that the note 8 is in great believe me I love it but not enough to keep a phone that's almost a $1000 with a physical defect
