Guys I'm so mad right now. I was number 12 on the pre-order list, and Best Buy called me today saying they only got FIVE in and that I would have to wait until next week to get the phone. MORE time on the Blackberry. RAWR!
It's not the end of the world, though. I have to be in court tomorrow at 9AM so I won't be able to wait outside, but my dad offered to go wait in line for a fee of $10 and buy it for me with my credit card. As soon as he buys it, I'll cancel my pre-order with Best Buy and enjoy the Droid X
Make sure your dads a admin on your plan or they'll be like "Sorry, can't do it, need a admin here to accept."
Oh you're so right. I had actually called the VZW store to see if I had to do anything, and that's exactly what they said, so that will be in order ASAP.

First post here, BB Storm 1 and current Storm 2 owner. Been in denial for a while. Played with the EVO and saw the light. Will be ordering my Droid X in just a few hours on VZW.com.
Absolutely cannot wait. I returned my wifes BB 9650 last week for a Moto Droid and have been playing with that for the past week(already rooted and installed Kangerade). Fallen in love with Android. BlackBerry is obviously on its way out. Do they really think the minor updates in OS6 are enough? R.I.P. RIM

nice! what's up Nate, glad to see you saw the light. BB is dead! I'm right there with you as this will be my first Android device. I wonder if you'll be able to make themes for Android like you for all of us over at Crackberry?
How many BlackBerry folks are diving into Droid X and/or Android blindly? I'm dropkicking my Tour away and aside from having used a Moto Droid for a few minutes, I'm essentially Android blind.
I've been with Blackberry for 2 years now... Since they're lacking in the realm of innovation as of late I will be switching to Android. I'm excited. Just hoping that my DivX coded .avi movies work properly on the Droid X... and that there are some awesome widgets floating around out there...

the only thing good about it was fantastic integration with our BES-enabled corporate exchange server. and maybe the form factor...i like small flips.
the bad? everything else. X will be a revelation, in terms of both functionality and size.

Former CB user here too (doctorlove316). I left a few weeks ago for a used Droid and am pissed at myself for not doing it sooner. It's time for the X now though!
I am a convert but it's not my first time converting. I had to go the dumbphone route for a bit after having Blackberry devices. I then went from a Rumor2 to a HTC Hero on Sprint but didn't like it at all so I went back to Blackberry and got an 8530 Curve. I've since realized that it wasn't the Hero that sucked but my cell signal! Every phone I've had in this house just can not make or receive a call to save my life. Data connections? Ha! I've since opened a Verizon account and my husband has his plain-Jane flip phone while I've been waiting on the X to be released. Here I sit now just foaming at the mouth until midnight when it hopefully goes online so I can order and ditch Sprint and Blackberry.
Can't wait to get rid of my blackberry tour and get my first android phone The trackball is just horrible, i'll miss the keyboard but I think i'll live without it
