The official "I got my Thunderbolt thread!"

I am ready to go! Love this phone. I am coming from a DINC, also a great phone!:)

I got this phone the first day too, glad to see rooting is coming along nicely.

i really love this phone, coming from a droid > fascinate > thunderbolt.

I got mine today to replace my iPhone 4...have had a few issues with it including crashing and had to charge the battery twice but other than that I love it.

Got my Bolt the first day and very happy so far, only downside poor battery life which seems to improve little bit after few days of charging

got the TB yesterday and i cant put it down! I love this phone even more than i loved my OG Droid. best thing ive bought for myself in a long time!

This is my first Droid.

Has 4G at my home in San Diego, but neither where I bought the Tbolt (Encinitas) or where I work (Carlsbad).... someday....

Design flaw: Kickstand cannot function in landscape mode while usb power is plugged in (they shoulda either reversed the kickstand or put the usb port on the other side). This would be an issue for example for someone wanting to watch a movie while plugged in to save battery drain.

Also for some reason after the rep updated my contacts almost all of them are duplicated on my phone list. Based on the fact that the contacts that are not updated seemed to be relatively more recent I am guessing that I somehow had two versions of backup assistant databases that were both updated OR the backup assistant update crashed before finishing and then started up again from the beginning (rep did mentioned something about having trouble with the backup assistant). So far haven't found a fix.

My blackberry definitely had its advantages (easier 1 handed etc) but I am loving the vastly improved browsing experience.

You can get the dock to charge and watch.

Longest work day/night of my life...saw my phone was delivered at 12:01pm today...just got home and I'm so excited to sit up all night with this thing...I was a little worried aboutcoming from a blackberry tour and the physical keyboard but I'm doing pretty good on is, very easy to get used to.

I got mine on launch day for $270.00 with a 1 year contract and that is account discounts as the 2 year contract was $240.00. Its really strange coming from the Incredible as there is such a huge weight difference. I haven't had the opportunity to really enjoy it as their is no 4G in the surrounding area but I'm just happy NOVA 3.3.9 works on the thunderbolt!

Picked up mine Friday afternoon. I'm finally rid of my Storm 2!!! The TBolt is amazing! I'm having a blast just fiddling with the settings.

shyould have taken video

Lol, then someone could edit it and make the video similar to the office space scene.

in the meantime, heres my pic i just made

Woo Hoo!

Hey all I got my Thunderbolt the day it came out and boy was I ready to get it.. my Droid 2 was on its last leg (however I'm pretty sure that's all it started with since it was my sixth one in six months thank God for warranties). I was a bit nervous since I had never had an HTC phone before but my nephew had an Eris and he had so many problems with it I wasn't impressed. I will say that after reading the specs on it I had to have one.. had to. It was calling to my soul.. I do most everything on my phone except talk on it. Lol I work online, email, blog, everything. I would be lost without my phone however my Motorola Droid was not fast enough and had really turned me off to the idea that there could be a great Smart phone out there. Once I got the thunderbolt in my hands I was amazed, shocked even.. first off at the present time where I live there is no 4g coverage (they told me six months to a year and we would have it) but as I downloaded some apps and got online I could not believe how fast and smooth this baby is... Wow.. the sales guy warned me about the poor battery life but I was not concerned because I don't mind charging it often.. not to mention once I turned the screen brightness down to 25 ...well you know the deal.. thanks to you guys I am learning things I would have never known. Ok here's the real deal this phone rocks and the battery deal I will fix by buying the extended battery and all will be well in the world. I have seen so many people on here griping about little things and now they don't want it... Wrong choice Mr Magoo. The HTC Thunderbolt is amazing. This phone doesn't lag doesn't drag it flows smooth in everything it does.
Thanks you guys
Ronin

I just got my TB a couple of hours ago ! This is my first smart phone and first Android, coming from a VERY outdated Motorola W755 flip phone. So I'm pretty excited. Considered waiting for the Incredible 2, but decided to go for the TB. :):)

I went to the local Verizon store and picked up a Thunderbolt this afternoon.
The staff told me that they had sold out Thursday, and just gotten more in stock today. :)

I recieved a sweet deal on a 1 year contract. $229.99
Holy crap! Not bad.

Was only supposed to get 25% off accessories and 19% off call plan from my company discount, but I'll take a $90 discount on the phone... :D

Placed an order for the 2750mAH Extended Battery while I was there.
Tried to order the Multimedia Desktop Charging Dock, but it wasn't available. :\ Oh well.

The only downside, is that the phone won't be activated until midnight.
I'm transferring the phone number from an old dumbphone prepaid account to a smartphone contract account, so the account doesn't change over until midnight. Tonight's going to rock!

Just picked mine up!! Silly delivery service from Amazon Wireless said my address "didn't exist" so I had to drive to the distribution center. I'd go pretty far for this little guy.

Waiting for my bf to come home before unboxing. He's been following the forums almost as closely as I have but unforunately picked up a Fascinate a couple weeks before we knew about the Thunderbolt.

I'm still in shock that I have a new phone. I've had my p.o.s. Versa for 2+ years. :)
