this isn't verizons fault its our fault for "confirming" the "speculated" dates, they havent given a concrete date that they have missed so honestly they havent done anything wrong, just b/c we want this phone out now...

well i can understand that, but there was dates being teased, like the 14th, then the 28th. an that ad now says february. dummy units an store units have arrived. i mean what else is needed for this thing to launch. pre orders have started.

most of this is caused by our want an desire for this phone tho.

Your right, Verizon never did give an official date, and if they would have, everyone would be even more upset then they are now about the delay...lets just hope this comes out in February

Even if he did it probably wouldn't be signifigant enough to help us with figuring out the actual release date, This phone is obviouslly not being rushed. The Verizon commercial basically promised us a February release date, Who knows Big Red might have the LTE jitters and might just be nervous releasing their next flagship phone so close to the Iphail 4 for-a-phone.

Weird.....I just got off the phone with my local BB (again) and was re-assured that I would have the phone Monday! I don't know what to think anymore......

If you are desperate for 2/14 (and I am) here is what I can hold on to:
1- VZW trying to quench the fire of speculation so posts this to make us back off.
2- BB still gets to release, only VZW stores and Amazon delay
3- That image is a complete fake. I heard they have programs that can manipulate photos
4- That is an old image and it has since been taken care of.

I know...completely unfounded ideas...but I have to dream...

I hope your right. The manager was busy when I called. I only spoke with a reg mobile employee. The manager just called me back and said that he looked into the Monday release date and it is still a go. I told him about all the stuff floating around these forums and he again re-assured me that it would not effect BB's release date....... this is crazy!

I think this phone is going to be released on Monday the 14th by Best Buy. You won't be able to purchase one at Verizon for at least a few more days. Sprint does this sometimes. My brother works for a Sprint store and told met that Radioshack sometimes gets phones a few days ahead of them. This happened with the EVO Shift. I think that is what is going on here.

I hate to say it because I want this phone as much as anyone, but I don't see it being released at any outlet in the next 2 weeks. My reasoning is pretty simple -- if it was going to be released at Best Buy in the next 6 days, I think we would see way more leaks than we have. I also think VZW has control of who does and does not get this phone, especially since it will be the first LTE phone. VZW knows they have a winner with the iphone 4 and doesn't want to release a phone that may have bugs (skype & hotspot) which would cause negative press for VZW after all of the positive press they've received with the iphone. just my $0.02. I think we'll see it after everything is working properly.

Because Verizon still has to deal with the headaches, embarrassment, customer service complaints, etc. should the device and/or the software not be ready. Verizon could very well tell Best Buy that it cannot sell it until they're ready. It appears that has already happened with Amazon since the release date was pulled from the website.

Honestly if there are issues with the phone I would rather they delay the launch to fix them than give us all faulty phones that would be frustrating and turn us off the thunderbolt.

WOW....Just got another call.....it is going to be "delayed". Now they are saying the 24th! The manager told me that he has been on the phone the last half hour trying to figure out what is going on. The only thing he was told is that Verizon wants the *phone launch to calm down! WTF! By time this phone gets released, it's life span is already half over.....I'm really close to jumping ship!

I don't believe there are issues with this phone. I think its been ready for a while and Verizon wanted to test LTE first with data cards. The only thing holding this back now is the Iphone.
