The Pixel Buds won't ship until January. Any other suggestions?

And don't suggest Beats or anything from Apple. I've had a series of horrible experiences with them.

Does the Pixel 2 XL come with any earbuds or a 3.5mm adapter in the box?

VZW says the black will ship by Dec 15th.. No VZW account needed to order. Maybe local stores have stock so might be best to call around before ordering them online.

How's the sound? Nothing but negative reviews? How much background noise is there while you are listening?

All the reviews I've read says the sound is good... Better than the air pods (which ppl love) but nowhere close to the sound of some buds around the same price that come from companies that focus of audio.

Only complaint I've seen is people are upset they don't sit inside your ear blocking outside sounds

Sound is great. Honestly the only disappointing thing is the translation feature is merely an extension of an existing feature in translate, it sounded like much more.

Saw some reviews on the Pixel buds. I think I'm going to wait until the second gen. I picked up the second gen Icon X 2018 and they are greatly improved.

Not sure if you were referring your questions to me but the IconX does a great job at staying in your ear since they go into your ear and have the plastic wings for support. But of course fit will always be different for everyone.
