The Pixel wallpapers are camera samples

Look at the dynamic range and the angle of view. The dynamic range isn't good enough for it to be from a high-end DSLR but it's still very good and the lens is clearly wide angle (25-35mm equivalent, pretty much like every phone out there).

You also have the small world image which you can do by taking a photosphere (a feature of the Google Camera app) and converting it.

I'd be willing to bet that all these images are Pixel camera samples.

Of course they are, why would they include a random selfie, unless it was shot with the Pixel.

By wallpapers, are you referring to the tiny compressed pictures in the shape of the phone? You can't judge anything from those.

I do expect the phones to have pretty good cameras since it's an HTC phone.
