I consider myself a platform agnostic tech geek. I am fascinated by all tech, regardless of platform, brand, etc. and I love to tinker with all manner of gadgets.
The past year-and-a-half has been a busy one for me. During that time I've used (in order) a Lumia 521, iPhone 5, BlackBerry Z30, Lumia 822, BlackBerry Bold 9930, BlackBerry Q10, and a BlackBerry Z10. As you can see, I’ve been very partial to BlackBerry’s BB10 devices for their excellent out-of-the box features, communication and productivity, security, and their ability to run Android apps.
But prior to this time of experimentation, would you believe that I used a Galaxy Nexus (Google Play Edition) for a year? An entire year! That's quite a feat for me, as you now know! There was something about that Gnex that had incredible staying power with me.
And now I’ll get to enjoy Android again because…
My new Moto X 2nd Gen is being built as I write this!
I was one of the lucky ones to get a Cyber Monday promo code, and for the specs and unique features the Moto X 2014 brings to the table, I just couldn't resist. The fact that I was able to qualify for credit with 12 months deferred interest really helped, as well.
I was pretty conservative on the customizations. Back: slate, front: black, accent: royal blue, no engraving, no personalized boot screen. Given my fickle nature with tech, I wanted to make it easy to sell, if desired.
The more I learn about the Moto X, the more I am impressed and eager to try out its features. What an amazing device!
I have a feeling that this phone may manage to keep my attention long enough for me to enjoy it for quite a while before I decide to move on.
I am looking forward to interacting with everyone here at Android Central and learning about all the interesting things that have been happening with the platform since I've been away.
My very first smartphone ever was an Android phone - a LG Optimus V. And now it appears I’ve come full circle.
The prodigal son has returned.
