The ringers... Good Lord, the Ringers...

There are a lot of cool ringtones from the Nexus roms and/or AOSP. If you havent heard them, check them out. I found an old link here (maybe there is a newer set somewhere): Google Nexus One (Android 2.1) Wallpapers and Ringtones Free Download ? My Digital Life

One thing for serious that i want to know (but cant wait another 3 hours to find out since thats when my SGS3 gets here) is do they still have the "soft alarm" sounds like the previous samsung phones? I am fanatically infatuated with waking up to those sounds...

Excellent - thanks! I just followed these instructions to find the ringtones on my RAZR MAXX, and discovered a few that aren't listed in the ringtone settings menu!

Glad I could help. :)

the notification sounds would be nice to have as well, for emials and texts.

Here's the alarms, ringtones and notifications from the GNex.

The method I use doesn't require root, but still gets to the root of the device. get AndroZIP and open it.

Go to the parent folder of the sdcard.

Go to system > media > audio.

Now just use AndroZIP to copy them to a reachable partition from USB.

Here's the GNex ringtones I promised:

Pyxis sounds the most like a phone, but Andromeda also sorta sounds like ringing.

EDIT: If you guys want ALL the Gnex ringtones, notifications and alarms, just let me know.

I would greatly appreciate all of the notification sounds from the GNex, thanks a lot in advance.

I think the nature sounds are a feature to make you not use so much data.

I swear, all those water sounds give me an urge to set my phone down and go pee.

BTW- Has there ever been a ringtone more obnoxious than the "VZW Airwaves", I mean other than a Lady Gaga ringtone?

Disappointing to hear about the ringers. Blackberry's and HTC's in my opion had some good ones.

Yeah, thanks for all the info and links everyone. Got my DROID notification tone and a CTU ringtone (from 24) for now, I'll check out more later. I assume I have to be rooted to remove all the garbage that Samsung preloaded... I guess it's not hurting anything.

So I mentioned this earlier, am I the only one that thinks the ringer is still pretty loud at the lowest setting, and there's not much of a difference between lowest and highest ringer volume?

I grabbed the Battlefield 3 Stringer ringtone off my Thunderbolt. You can also easily make songs ringtones via their stock music player.

Is there any way to access tones on my SD card for notifications (calendar and such). I hate using the stock tones.

So I was trying to find a good ringtone. When "Midnight Picnic" came on, my wife said, "That sounds like an ED commercial." My wife is awesome! Seriously, go listen to it.

Great that was the only one of them that I liked. Now I can never listen to it the same way again. :banghead:

Off to find ring tones...

EDIT: back to my old ring tone "innovation" (htc). Have used it for the last two years without wanting to throw my phone out the window so I figure I'll stick with it. I also took the opportunity to add back some of the notification sounds too.

I love nature but I want my phone to sound like a phone.

Anyone else hate the low sound delay that happens before the ring tone cranks up? I prefer audiko better for ring tones as well but the app is fairly limited. On the actual Site you can view variations of each cut of the ring tone.

This method does not allow me to move/copy ringtones to the ringtones folder in audio. What am I missing?

I was thinking the same thing. These ringers are atrocious. Thanks to everyone who uploaded what they had.
