Hey all,

I'm getting an S7 SOLELY for use with the GearVR to bridge the gap from my Oculus Rift to the mobile realm.... I don't plan on using it as a phone at all (I have my Nexus 6p for that)

I ended up I pre-ordering the S7 over the Edge because of the simple fact that it has a better ppi count.... Every little bit helps.

Just thought I'd share that in the event that someone else had a hard time deciding....

Thanks!

KillerQ Do you like the Nexus 6P better than you think the S7 or S7 Edge will be as a phone? I was really curious because Im about to upgrade and Im going back and forth over those 3 choices Love to hear your opinion... Thank you.. KEITH G.

Keith,

Nothing can touch the Nexus 6p.... Not even the S7. It's amazing, smooth, built like a tank, amazing battery.... Zero bloat and instant updates.... Trust me, it's outstanding.

Go to a store and try to get hands on with it...

KillerQ,
I almost bought it 2 weeks ago after months of researhing and comparing. I thought it was the best phone for those exact reasons you stated. Im a Samsung guy but I couldnt find any reason not to switch to the Nexus6p. I talked myself into the S7Edge but now after reading your post Im back to being split (actually favoring the Nexus6p again). Thanks for your honest review. Have you had your hands on an Edge7 by chance?

KillerQ,
I cant stop thinking of your review of the Nexus 6p. I was
wondering why, for so long, that I wasn't seeing more people raving about it like I was. To me, like you said, it looks like the best phone on the market. Im so stuck now between the Nexus 6p and the S7 Edge probably because Ive had a Samsung forever and that Im just so used to it. Every part of me wants to switch over to the Nexus 6p because of its seemingly flawless performance in every aspect. I came so close to getting the S7 Edge, actually that I finally made up my mind (or so I thought lol) until I read your post that stood out in my mind so much. I thought, why would someone get an S7 for the VR or the accessories, as an additional phone and not use it as their sole or primary phone. Thats why I know your review is so honest. You really believe that much in the Nexus 6p and are truly convinced by its performance. Im back to my original dilemma. Again, love to hear your thoughts on the S7, S7 Edge, and the Nexus 6p. Thanks again... Keith G.

My apologies to everyone for getting off the topic of the original thread!

Lol, that's okay if you get away from the original topic since it was my thread to start with. Hahaha.

Here's is an article with video review of the Nexus 6p vs the s7. It wasn't me that did this, but it gives you some good insight to both phones side by side.

Here are my thoughts, go ahead and pay for the Nexus 6p and try it out (is super cheap compared to the S7) . If you don't like it, sell it for what you got it for and put that towards the purchase of your p. Try it out. If you don't like it, sell it for what you got it for and put that towards the purchase of your s7 device.

KillerQ,
Thanks so much for your thoughts and advice. I watched the review(it keeps playing over and over again in my mind.. Lol) You're right, I definitely have to try them both out in person. Solid advice!!! My wife and 2 daughters are
I phone enthusiasts (rotten, no good kids ha ha ha) or I would've persuaded them all to upgrade to the S7, the S7 Edge and the Nexus 6P but that wouldve been to easy Lol This one is going to be tough. They really seem to be the best 3 devices out there. Thanks again for all your help!!! I really appreciate all the advice. Ill let you know how this all turns out, if and when, I can ever make up my own mind. lol..... Keith G.

The 6P is "sooo great"....except it doesn't have Qi, no SD card slot, and obscure USB C, so you can't even get a Qi adapter. And I've read a lot of opinions that the battery life isn't all that great.

Let's not argue, they are both great devices and offer positives and negatives over each other.

Mod Note, let's keep things on topic. You are more than welcome to pit the s7 against the 6p,but please do so in the appropriate place.
