The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll own!

I am sick and tired of this waiting game. One month later and we still don't have so much as a whisper from Verizon. First the 3rd, then the 7th, then the 11th, 18th, 21st, 28th, now the 8th? THIS IS ABSURD. UTTERLY ABSURD.

And NOW it comes to light that the reason to delay till the 8th is to GET A PIECE OF BLOODY BLOATWARE TO WORK!?!?!?!?

I HAVE HAD IT!

If anyone knows a surefire way to annoy the living hell out of Verizon corporate, I'd love to hear it. Otherwise, I'd like to see who else is with me in deeming the Galaxy Nexus their last Verizon phone ever.

Hey did Verizon ever announce a date? No they did not. They said by the end of the year. So as long as the phone is here before January 1st, 2012, they've met their deadline. Seriously calm down, it's a phone. The only reason you're mad about dates is because you follow blogs that show every date in existence as a possible release date. It'll be alright, trust me.

Could a mod lock this thread? I think we've given VZW enough of a tirade.

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

I know, but I'm the OP and I'd really rather not see my thread degenerate into a flamewar.

Personally, I think big red meets or exceeds all of our expectations. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that we are not worthy of such a wonderful carrier. We must respect the omnipotent big red. Yay, for what the big red giveth, the big red can taketh away. Please pause for a moment and join with me:

Big Red is my shepherd,
I shall not want what I cannot have;
it makes me lie down with RGB/green pentile.
it leads me beside still waters (just don't get water on that little sticker thingy on your battery/phone);
it restores my minutes.
it leads me in paths of righteous 2 yr contracts
for it's name's sake.

Even though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of some creepy neighborhood,
I fear no evil;
for Big Red is with me;
Your data plan and Your maps, they comfort me.

Surely goodness and mercy shall escape me
all the days of my life;
because I shall dwell in the network of the
Big Red forever.

I'm surprised they don't address their leaks. The leaking done by certain individuals does a lot to build hype about the phones, however, when they start leaking dates, it beats the community to death when those dates aren't met.

Went through this with the Thunderbolt. Dates get leaked, community expectations get raised (mine in particular), dates don't pan out because the individual leaking the dates doesn't actual control them. We're seeing the same thing with this device.

Now, that's not to say that Verizon doesn't have absolutely terrible execution. The GSM device (aside from the volume issue), seems to be working relatively fine. Why are the devices with LTE radios in them delayed so regularly?

They should not have announced a phone that was so far from ready that they couldn't give a date. Nobody, especially OG Droid owners who have been waiting to buy since the first VZW SGS2 rumors, is having a fun time here.

I'm actually quite happy that it got pushed back. Allows for me to spend time with my family this week. I know once I get this bad boy I ain't putting it down.

Yeah, this has been on the annoying episode I've had as a Verizon customer. My wife's upgrade is up in April. This long wait has pushed our upgrade times closer together. That will make breaking away from Verizon in two years much easier.

Plus, the competition should be better. I've had it with Verizon's phone selection. It's been a problem for years.

Verizon crippled the Galaxy S with a Bing, refused to sell the GS2, and this crap with the Nexus is unbelievable.

Bionic said coming to vzw back in Jan Feb never made it till Sept. 8 months of delay. Thunderbolt delay after delay before release. Droid charge another delay. This is nothing new every one needs to unbunch there pantys.

I was hoping they would have gotten the sgs2. At least then we would have had a phone and a pretty good one at that. Plus it probably would have an ICS port already.

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

Not going to lie, the thought has crossed my mind to buy a Nexus S off contract from craigslist for $150 then go with sprint...

3G on the droid is less than impressive.

So you'd like it better if you constantly wondered if the phone was really going to come to Verizon? At least they made it official that they are actually getting it. Be happy this isn't another Nexus One situation. The reason they don't give a date is because obviously there were some issues to work out with the phone before it was ready. Everyone would be complaining if they released it and it had issues so calm down it'll be here soon. enough.

Actually none of these phones were really delayed other than the Bionic. Everyone thinks the phones are "delayed" because they follow blogs that throw out all these dates. There's a reason Verizon doesn't announce dates until they know the phone is ready.

Charge was pushed back a week because of the network outage, bionic well we all know moto couldn't get the tegra 2 to work with lte or so they say and had to revise it multiple times. Thunderbolt was something so people could take advantage of the new lte network and once they updated it, was a really solid phone(sans battery life) Verizon does seem to test a lot and want the devices as bug free as possible at the time of release. Plus bionic was revealed in jan it was originally supposed to come march/april not Jan though.
