The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll own!

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

Verizon provides me with amazing customer service. AMAZING.

as far as them bending over backwards to vary from their current plans to please a bunch of whiners who act like 6 yr olds in an online forum? IDK

Ive said this before, and ill say it again.. when this is all said and done I hope every single person remembers how much whining and crying they did like the phone was going to change their lives or something.

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

my upgrade is 11/30 soI can wait/ I would hope it comes out black friday but I doubt it. dec 8th is fine. I just hope they don't stall till january if so at that point I would wait what a mere two moth's longer for a quad core monster phone we will see.

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

I like how you overlook the obvious fact that the reason why $h!t like this happens is because your crappy company leaves customers in the dark, releases 100% of it's phones with fu6king bloat, every phone I've had from you guys has -sucked- due to your own modifications to the OS. Your 3G is painfully slow and utterly useless for anything except text based webpages.

Now we're on the precipice of you finally releasing one device, just one, that's going to work correctly and you're delaying the launch to install more god damned bloat? To boost sales of the crappy RAZR and rezound? Frankly I don't care what the reason is. All it comes down to is another reason to dislike Verizon for ?u6king with their customers.

And the entitled, superior attitude displayed by your "entertainment" over your sh!tty company repeatedly frustrating their customers by delaying launches and announcing products without providing release dates just proves that this problem has continued over time without Verizon learning their lesson. Instead they continue to insult their customers' intelligence with these stupid fiascos and bloated phones. The point of a SERVICE BUSINESS is to provide GOOD customer service. Companies that fail to do so deserve to go under, and their smug employees should be out on the street.

The launch of this phone is just the latest in a long line of problems with vzw, and is the smallest of them. It's a "straw that broke the camel's back" situation now. Sick of a company that acts like it's $#!T doesn't stink cause it's slow 3G network is blanketing a map of the US in red.

There's a real easy solution for you, just go to another carrier. This is America, no one is forcing you to stick with Verizon.

Personally, I love Verizon. If I didn't I would still be a customer. My question to you is "why haven't you switched yet?"

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

I find both sides of this to be funny. The truth is that Verizon can be frustrating in that they are controlling, they are expensive, they try to nickel and dime you, they put bloat on phones etc etc.....and of course right now they are frustrating because this small group of fanatics, who know more than they should and less than they want, are dying for a release date.

Of course every time I've tried to make a call for the last ten years I haven't had a problem, I have never been to a place I couldn't use data or make a call, I've never had an issue dealing with customer service and none of their bloatware apps has ever kicked my dog or injured a family member.

So I get people being mildly annoyed at verizon, but in the end they deliver a ridiculously good network and that is what I'm paying for (and paying, and paying....) so if you love verizon your crazy because their is a lot to hate, and if you hate them your crazy cuz their is a lot to love......but let's not pretend that anybodies leaving verizon cuz that's just plain crazy.

Every carrier puts bloat on their phones. Plus at&t is just as bad with nickeling and diming you.

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

I left Verizon years ago because I wasn't happy with them. Came back to using only a xoom on their service, then I got Fios and am very pleased.

What I'm getting at is if you aren't happy with something them go else where. Life is too short to worry about stuff like this. Its just a phone, while I think its the best available I don't think its anything THAT amazing.

Reminds me of people that go to a restaurant, sit down and tell the waitress "the last 5 times I was here I wasn't happy".......and it makes you wonder why the hell do you keep coming back? Just to whine?

OMG the world is coming to an end since it has a vzw logo on the back. Just but a back from the gsm version if it is such a big deal.

Not a big deal?

Yeah, you know what. VZ should just tell apple to remove their logo so they can put a VZ logo there instead. You can just go out an get a native apple back, right????

This isn't just about aesthetics, its about branding. For me, a phone by "Google" is much more desirable and marketable than a phone by "VZ". And if Google had a mind or two they would have pushed back if they were really trying to compete with apple. The way this is shaping up, there will be no owner of this phone of other than the AC fan base that will even know its a "pure" Google phone.

iphone does not have a removable back. I dont understand why you are crying when you can go spend $3 bucks and get a gsm back if it is that bad to you. smh

Mostly people just like to whine.

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

I am also renting a phone from Costco, I just cant take this anymore. I happen to think this isnt as big a deal, but it does seem evident that the phone is ready and is being delayed for no reason whatsoever. I have several friends overseas who have purchased the phone and so far their only complaint is that there are missing apps - THATS IT! The more dev savvy friends have been trying to make the apps work and say they are getting FCs by trying to force these incompatible apps.

When I called VZW stores today to see if they had any news all the reps pushed the RAZR, HARD! One claimed to be a dev and said that the RAZR will be the phone to have come January when it gets ICS. I am skeptical of the time table, but assuming it does not have on screen buttons along with the soft buttons I would think he could be right.

Check out my poll:

#poll Now that the Nexus has been 'delayed' again will you be waiting for its release?

I'm still waiting for the nexus. There is a reason I did not get a rezound or razr and it is because I will no longer have to root to have updates right away. I have no problem waiting if it comes out this week or next, it will come and then people will be complaining about something with the phone and how they should have waited longer.

I'm glad you have had a good experience with VZW, but that is far from par for the course. Heck, they had to pay out a $100 million dollar settlement to avoid a class action lawsuit because they were deliberately not refunding bogus charges (usually $1.99 or $3.98 per line, per month) that they were aware of. It takes a lot of accounts and a lot of months to get to $100 million dollars. Not to mention the fact that if you have an Android phone (especially the Incredible, Thunderbolt or Droid X come to mind) you have experienced their issues with software updates and delays. I really am glad that someone has had a good experience with them, but I think you are the very small exception.

Also, do you travel at all? I know that Verizon has very good coverage, but I can think of at least a dozen places around the country I have been that have no coverage. Granted they are not major cities.

I'm not going to say that Verizon has never done anything wrong (though I've always been satisfied, outside of not yet being able to buy this phone), but to call their network coverage into question is ridiculous. I'm sure you can find some remote area that has no coverage, but comparing the data coverage maps, NOBODY can come close to giving you better USA coverage than Verizon. It's the primary reason we all pay for their service.

I have been all over the place and way out in the woods and there was only 1 place that did not have coverage. This is not tmo, sprint or at&t that barely extends outside of cities verizon covers just about everywhere. Not sure why you think they just cover major cities.

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

, I love Verizon. If I didn't I would still be a customer. My question to you is "why haven't you switched yet?"

Sprint: Weak coverage at my home

T-Mobile: Whole family had endless dropped calls

AT&T: Fast data, good (in the city) coverage, currently have a line with them for work

Verizon: Good voice coverage, 3G extremely slow and useless, Been through 7 warranty exchanges, phones that should be fast are slow due to excessive bloat. Most expensive carrier. currently have personal family account with them

So, that sums up the current situation for you fanboys that have been hurt by my legitimate complaints towards Verizon. I don't switch because it's not a viable option currently. If you LOVE Verizon, good for you, but you can check my posting history if you like, I am not just someone who complains about every phone launch on a weekly basis and stays with the company.

Being the best of the worst is frankly annoying and they need to earn their stripes as the ?top phone carrier?. If this is as good as it gets, that's pitiful.

For those of you that don't like hearing others' opinions and think yours is the only one, good luck in life, it's going to be a long hard time for you. A long hard time of you whining about what you perceive as whining from others.

Every carrier adds a ton of bloat to their phones so that is not just on verizon. This phone needs to release so all the whining and crying about everything can stop. You all act like they killed your pet damn.
