I was told it was using the same camera sensor as the S9/S9+ and Note 9. Would that be a good thing if it was? What do you think?
Edit: Just got a confirmation it will have a Sony IMX363 which is actually newer than the Galaxy S9/S9+'s IMX345... Currently checking to see if it has dual pixel

The V40 has a Sony ExmorRS IMX363 with *DUAL PIXEL* technology
The G7 has an IMX351
The Galaxy S9/S9+ has an IMX345
Honestly the hardware is good, it's just the camera software people often judge. Samsung has really great camera software, as well as Google. Install Google's GCam and it's going to be great.

"The LG V40 ThinQ is equipped with an IMX363 image sensor, Sony's ExmorRS series with 12 million pixels, a sensor size of 1 / 2.55 ", a pixel size of 1.4㎛, and AF supports Dual-PDAF."
"On the back, it seems to be equipped with a 12-megapixel camera, a 16-megapixel wide-angle camera, and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera. Normal cameras are supposed to use a Sony imx 363 sensor and are known to support an aperture value of F1.5. (For reference, the imx 363 sensor is a sensor installed by companies such as Samsung and Xiaomi.) The wide angle camera and telephoto camera are said to use the Sony imx 351 which was used before. As the rear camera supports Dual Pixel, it is said that the focusing process is very advanced and laser autofocus, which is a near focus processing technology, is missing. The AI camera will be more advanced."
"The rear camera uses a camera module with OIS technology and a 12-megapixel camera of the Sony X-Mover IMX363 sensor set at an angle of view of 78 degrees. It is equipped with a basic camera and a 16-megapixel camera with a 107 angle of view. We set up a 45- megapixel camera with a telephoto camera and constructed a triple lens with this set. This rear camera, the first one with a triple lens to LG Electronics in smartphones will is. And the primary camera supports phase-difference detection AF using "Dual Pixel" technology . However, LG Electronics ' G series and V series equipped with the basic LASER AFNo sensors were installed. Also, the sensor size is 1 / 2.55 inch for the main camera, 1 / 3.06 inch for the wide angle camera and 1 / 3.6 inch for the telephoto camera. The brightness of the aperture is F / 1.5 for the main camera, F / 1.9 for the wide angle camera, and F / 2.4 for the telephoto camera. The front camera uses an 8-megapixel camera with an angle of view of 80 degrees. It is equipped with a basic camera, and a 5-megapixel camera is set at an angle of view of 90 degrees. This is a dual-lens front camera with a long time since V10 . Also, the aperture brightness is F / 1.9 for the primary camera and F / 2.2 for the wide angle camera."
