the Xoom has arrived

If it's pure Honeycomb, it's exactly the same as saying pure Google, Vanilla, Stock, whatever you wanna call it :)

Okay thanks. Well I will still wait for the G-Slate because I want to buy the tablet out right. I don't do 2yr contracts. I will probably just use wi-fi. I am still skeptical about the Xoom tablet. Is it supposed to be like a Nexus Tablet. This is what it seems like to me if they said this is the tablet they built Honeycomb on.

A lot of people are referring to this as Nexus-like for Tablets, but I'm still skeptical on it being completely stock for now. I want to see a little more before I make any decisions on that.

Ya that is exactly how I see it. Thanks for helping me out. I am the same way, I still want to see more.

in fairness though, since honeycomb is a tablet OS, we dont really know whether or not it will be "stock" honeycomb, given that this is the first device that is using it

Actually, the guy responsible for most of 3.0 said in an interview with Engadget that it was stock and Moto didn't touch it (specifically Josh said that in the interview and Duarte agreed). I'm would bet this will be pure Google ... The long interview is here, and pretty interesting...

Thanks! I read that and the Motorola and LG tablet are both Pure Honeycomb and don't have a skin from LG or Motorola.

While Matias stated that Android 3.0 would not be designed to prevent OEMs from skinning over it, I would speculate that it won't be quite as easy for the OEMs to skin as was Android pre 3.0. At least not as completely.

What I'm hoping is that this is the beginning of something, at least for Tablet.s My hope is that Honeycomb brings enough functionality and ease of use that OEM's will see no need to mess with it. From what I've seen, there's not much, if anything at all that should be tampered with.

i would love to believe this, but manufacturers cant seem to help themselves. especially if they think they are improving the UI in some way.
