Thanks. However, all i have done so far is root and install the recovery, no roms, no themes, nothing like that. So already being de-odexed didn't come to mind. I'll try the updated theme template when it's up.
It's up.

I am running your gingerbread theme. When I am roaming there is no icon for it in notifications bar. Not a big. Just wanted to inform you of this. Maybe it's just my phone?

any plans on porting two point two ?
[Theme]TwoPointTwo Theme for aospMod and CM6.1 Stable [RLS8.1 (both)] 12/19/2010 - xda-developers
It's not your phone. I saw the framework myself and said "meh, it's not a big deal." The roaming indicator is black on a black background. I do plan on updating the gingerbread theme eventually..
how exactly would I go about asking permission for that? just go to xda and ask if you can port it or ?Tell you what, If you ask for permission I will put it on my list.

i am the creator of the twopointtwo theme and yes it is ok to port it, if you need anything just let me know
one string attached though, after it is ported somebody has to post a screenshot of it running on the optimus in my XDA thread!
yea it was, after its complete would you mind if i mirrored it on xda?
I don't really know what went wrong, but i tried to use GatorBoots and i started getting Google force closes when i rebooted my phone. Then if i hit the Home button it popped up a box asking me to choose which launcher to use and there were 3 listed instead of the normal one and Launcher Pro. After selecting one it would freeze. If i restarted i was greeted with the same force close message then the choose Sprint ID screen would show up. I went into recovery and flashed stock template, but it didn't change anything when i rebooted. I had done a nandroid backup previous to flashing so i restored that and now it's all back to normal. I don't know what happened. Maybe an incomplete flash? I am using Thunderom 1.5 with JIT only. I am gonna try another when i get home. Just in case i'd say to do a Nandroid backup before applying themes.
