There goes my Thunderbolt. :(

So true, I'm not one to drop my phone ever and an extremely careful with all my expensive gadgets. I like the idea of screen protectors but they take away from the natural feel of the phone for me. Especially while using swype, I mean its not all that bad I've used my friends dx and its still smooth but I still like the phone better without one. As to the op that sucks man I actually never think about it when doing my installs (not on this phone but many others).

yup, from using swype for almost a year on my droid 1 i found it very hard to slide my finger across a screen with a protector on it. finger would stick and get caught on the protector itself. i prefer naked, hell usually i dont even use a case as i never damage anything of mine but for this i grabbed a case and called it a day

Just an update.

I received my HTC Thunderbolt today and I couldn't be happier. The device is not refurbished but rather a brand new device. I received the device in it's original OEM box with all of the included accessories. I now have a spare plug, 32 GB SD Card, Battery, etc.

Insurance is definitely worth it when this happens. The only issue I have is that my phone just took the new update from Verizon. My old device never did but that's fine. I hope I don't have any issues.

Steinheil screen protectors utilize a dry application. I have tried Bodyguardz, Zagg and Phantom Skins and I have found that Steinheil is by far the easiest to install and has held up really well. I was always skeptical of applying the "solution" to my $500 plus dollar device for that reason.

My Zagg went on without a hitch..

Same here. I use Zagg on all of my phones. I just remember to pay the extra 7 bucks or whatever at Best Buy and let them put it on. That way if they screw it up, its on them. They screwed up one of my old iPhones twice and kept having to go back on the shelf and take another one off to try again.

I just downloaded taps and I'm playing it for you now. I got a little tear in my eye for your bolt..

I thought the Bolt had a screen as strong as the Evo screen (which IS Gorilla Glass according to Corning) You shouldn't need a screen protector unless you fill your pockets with sand and go jogging with your phone in there.

I figured that but I've seen posts about how it scratches easily and they don't keep anything in their pocket. I don't know, no big deal. :)

i had the invisible shield on with no problem - but it feels tacky (although the protection it offers is excellent).

ordered sgp (steinheil) ultra clear protectors - much nicer feeling (feels like glass just about) and went on dry with only 2 small bubbles left in the middle (annoying but it's probably my fault they're there).

usually like naked phones but got a couple faint scratches on the bolt and didnt want it to get worse.

WOW I drenched my phone installing the Zagg no issues. Your screen must be coming unglued.

^This.^ My first TB I took to Best Buy, and they put an InvisibleShield on it for me for free (install was free, not the shield. Also, the installer was pro) A week and a half later, the screen was coming unglued on the right side of the device. Nothing to do with the screen protector, just could feel some give in that side and none in the left.

Got a warranty replacement, took it and the old one back to Best Buy, and had them take the old one off the old phone and put a new one on the new phone. This installer did a real BAD job. Rather than hurt her feelings, I brought it home, removed it myself, repositioned it perfectly, and got it installed right. Tuned it on, and there's a very fine black filament right in the middle of the screen. :-( If it was white, I would know I had probably done it (I have white huskies) but I really think she did.

Well, I had some other screen protectors that I had ordered for it before I took it to Best Buy (they took too long to get here for my peace of mind on the first TB) so I removed the InvisibleShield and used one of these. The brand name is splash, they go on dry, and you can use a piece of scotch tape to remove any dust or other inclusions that affect the install. Got a perfect installation on it, and have 2 more protectors left (pack of 3.) This is the matte finish, so my finger slides much smoother on the screen than with the InvisibleShield, and there doesn't seem to be as much color/pixel visibility on white backgrounds as the ClariVue Matte I had on my Incredible. Doesn't show fingerprints too bad, either.

Agreed. I installed my Crystal Steinheil in under 2 minutes. It's nice and slick and....crystal clear! I love it.
