Just got a 150 Mb system update that says: This update will install the latest public update of Android 12 on your device. All data stored on your device will be lost. You are receiving this because you have opted out of the Android Beta Program.
(To opt back into the program visit....Yeah In a Pig's Eye)
I'll report on the result later

Interesting. Did you originally try with the 451MB sized update?

No, firstly the 451 Mb update is actually the beta! I just opted out yesterday evening and this latest update is only 150 Mb. I now have Build Number SP2A.220305.013.A3 - that is the latest public release (March Update according to the Pixel forum over on XDA)

So after wiping my phone yesterday for no reason I opted back in because it kept telling me I needed that 451mb update to get out of the beta to latest stable public release. That stopped the phone thinking it needed the 451mb update.

I just opted back out, and now I see the 150mb update you mention. I basically just got done setting my phone up after staying up late last night and finishing it throughout my day.

Apparently as per your experience Google sent out like the wrong update. Ridiculous.

Looks like I'll be wiping again. At least for a good reason.

Yes, I too went through nonsense of the 450 MB wipe several times. However, the 150 MB file worked perfectly and now I have set up the phone just like I like it. Well, I guess there are better things to do with my time but I haven't figured out what to do with those yet.

This is good news but it took me a whole day to setup my phone again so I will wait until I have issues again.

I'm on Beta 12 L with the forced inclusion, by Google, of "their" new Feature Drop beta. My 6 Pro is working just fine at this point, so I'm not going to put myself through a factory data reset, with no guarantee that I won't have to do it again, until absolutely necessary. At any rate, when I'm finally free of this beta program, I will never volunteer for another. Google has made an unforgivable mistake, in my opinion, by automatically enrolling the Beta 12L volunteers in another beta program, without our permission, nor an escape opportunity, other than doing a factory data reset.
