There's a storm brewing...

I think if i do exactly what i am doing now, but on LTE i will see the same data volume (just faster). One caveat, moving from blackberry which compresses data to android will lead to higher data rates for the same data (email etc.) If i start to do things i don't do now like skype stream netflix etc. then my data consumption will go up. I think these folks using 15 GB per mo. have cut off their broadband and are tethering their PC's etc. etc. Or maybe they just keep showing their friends how fast they can download a 1GB movie :)

You don't have to worry about skype or netflix initially :).

I know Verizon is ultimately to blame for the early release leaks, but I myself and I myself alone feel this was a case of Verizon bending over and taking it in the you know what from crapple.

Why? Why would a powerhouse like Verizon act like an alter boy being taken advantage of by a higher power you ask? I think the answer is simple even though it's hard to believe. AN S LOAD OF $$$$$$. Money is why we are where we are today with this phone. Now, I'm not saying the "network" had nothing to do with it, but it was apple who may have scared Verizon into beefing up their 3G network for the iphone launch. So.........the next generation network we like to call 4G LTE was put on hold...................for money. I know it sounds like some conspiracy theory I drummed up, but I truly believe there is truth to what I am saying above.

Now I love the verizon network. I have been a verizon customer for 10+ years, since the Bell Atlantic Mobile days so I am not bashing there technology. I am, however, questioning their integrity.

Off my soap box for now.........................................

I don't blame Verizon directly as I agree, I think March was the plan all along. However, I don't understand why Verizon would cave to Apple. In my opinion, Verizon didn't need to beef up their CDMA network. I mean Verizon keeps touting their network (deservedly), and as has been said before, Apple needs Verizon more than Verizon needs Apple. After all, Verizon weathered through the "iPhone storm" and still maintained more customers than AT&T because people realized that the network really does matter.

So that being said, it isn't like Verizon is going to get a huge load of new usage just because the iPhone is available. The LTE phones are what Verizon should be worried about. Aside from Sprint (which is thinking about switching to LTE) none of the other carriers have a brand new (breakthrough) technology. Now I know they need to continue to support CDMA since they will still be using it for voice for the time being, but total LTE is where they want to end up, so they need to focus on that.

Time to stir the pot....facebook wall has TWO people that say they picked up a TBolt from their VZW store today...not ppl I've ever seen troll the VZW fbook page before....

Oh man, I wonder how many folks from here are checking Facebook right now.

How can you say that March 17th was their original release date when they said that it'd launch "mid-february" in a press release?

That was part of the PR blunder I spoke of. They tried to get it out faster, but I believe Apple put a stop to it. Just saying.

I'm on the FB verizon page and I can't see anything that anyone has wrote on the wall other than verizon themselves. I know yesterday there was an option to see Verizon + others. Guess they took it down to try to prevent uproar? Either that or I'm having brain flatulence and just am looking in the wrong spot.

Edit: Nevermind, figured it out. Sorry guys.

Don't get me wrong...I do believe that VZW tried to get this phone out in mid-feb....but I still don't/haven't seen this press release with a mid feb release date...just the same old 1st half, some in march...

Adding a "like" button was going to be my suggestion too. Seems that is what it is being used for at times. It allows people to post agreement to something without having do add a brand new reply with "I agree" or "+1".....which only adds to thread length

You guys got me thinking about it last night and now I'm on it. Will not replace thanks with like, it will be in addition to, and will not show up like "the following 45 people liked your 2 word 'it's coming' post." It will just say "liked 45 times" Probably not before this thread dies though. The problem of people just posting "I agree" and "thanks" has never been a big issue here, even before I installed it.

You guys have all been the inspiration of so many ideas in this thread. You have no idea :p

I agree with you that they "SHOULD" have focused on 4G, but the panda himself mentioned they were focusing on 3G from a directive from a "fruit" company. They had all their resources working on beefing up the existing CDMA network and now they are working their butts off to get the LTE network ready for this launch. he doesn't think it will slip any further, which is a good thing.

from twitter on march 8th
black_man_x The Mobile Panda
remember when I asked wnat happens when u take half ur team to beef up existing network for a device n neglect ur new one? This is what..

black_man_x The Mobile Panda
@Miami1683 sadly their asses belong to another.. if it was my call I wldnt have been over thinkin iphone would kill our network ...

black_man_x The Mobile Panda
Love my team.. but for major markets not to be ready is appalling. Socal is done but others aren't?? Half the teams beefing up cdma for??

black_man_x The Mobile Panda
Teams are doing the needful to get it fixed and hopefully will be ready by expected launch date..may say the dreaded. "Delay" word?? Nah

Had the same problem, but at the top of the page it says "Verizon wireless" and right next to it it says "Most Recent." If you click on most recent it brings you to others posts. However, I only saw one comment about someone saying they have it and he sent it from an iPhone so.....

So maybe those folks are stirring the pot then.:-\

I went and looked on facebook and yeah the guy that said he has one is fullmof it cause I remember he was on there about a week and a half ago telling people he was a vz store employee and that they were getting the phones on march 1st. So yeah that guy is a jerk off troll.

In latest twitter news: "verizon htctbolt device showcase" is now in the market. Do not download it. Its for promotional use for the dummy units in the Verizon store.

From the PCmag article:

"[T]he 2010-era speeds are soured by the 2005-era thinking on data plans. Verizon has priced LTE pretty much like 3G to encourage data sipping, not guzzling. As soon as you start using the latest high-bandwidth Internet services, your whole month's allotment can evaporate within a day."

And that is exactly what they are counting on. Using your wallet to stop you from over-taxing their network. Such an insane markup over what they actually pay to pump a gig through their network...
