I don't get it. The TBolt will be the first LTE phone released by VZW. You would rather wait weeks or months for the Bionic to be released instead?

Let me explain further, if the tBolt isnt released by the 17th then I will have reached my personal breaking point with the way this whole situation was handled and I wont contribute to their sales numbers for the tBolt.

I think it is pretty clear to most people that The statement "Verizon did not "officially" release a launch date" is just not gonna pass the "smell test" for the vast majority of people.

I also suspect that when the phone does decide to drop it better be perfect or it is going to be connected with WaterWorld, Euro Disney, and the Ford Pinto".

Well I wouldn't say perfect because nothing is perfect, unless your apple and claim that everything you do is perfect... anyways I think the phone will run flawlessly. They've tested the crap outta this thing, the CEO of HTC even had one himself to make sure it was running fine.

Ok, after just reading Bennnn's post, I would bet anything it's not coming next week. I am officially done with this phone. I set a date and if it wasn't out by the 17th I was leaving Verizon and going back to AT&T. I am tired of waiting on this phone to be honest. Verizon is turning into the laughing stock of the industry because of this mess. They just had to have the iphone which flopped and now they are kinda screwed. Oh well, this phone may have saved them....If they would have released it by this week at the latest. 2 more weeks, no way!!

Sorry to see you go, champ. But Verizon isn't going to release it until the network it is ready to handle it. And they aren't announcing anything because they don't know when the network will be "ready"... but they have their peeps working day and night on this and all the rumors from insiders say it's close and to look out for an announcement early next week with a launch right after

As an aside: I'd be willing to bet that out of all the people that have said "that's it! i'm done! screw verizon"... out of all those people at least 75% of them will end up owning a bolt within the first week it comes out :p

I am in a little bit of a different boat. I want my first android phone to be an HTC. If the phone doesn't come next thursday...but instead it is end of march or April, and if I have enough self control I am going to wait to see how it does, how people are liking it (battery, etc.) and then choose to buy it OR...just hang on till the contract is up and see if T-Mob or Sprint has a better HTC phone (LTE is not a deal breaker for me, especially if my bill goes up!). Of course if they do not I may still get the phone. By my thinking I am only waiting in April and May...and I have been following the Bolt since late Dec.

I agree, I'm guilty of saying "screw it I'm done" but I only say that out of frustration...I want this phone.

edit...most people on this site

edit...its perception: most people on this site.

People who do not have the info will never know (like me when I bought my Blackberry Storm).

I spoke with Bennnn via pm and maybe I over-reacted a bit. But I have had this phone pre-ordered for 6 weeks and this 1 more week thing and soon is making me sick at this point. And for the record, I have 10 accounts with Verizon with my business so maybe they won't miss my business but I have been loyal for 9 years and for them to cater to Apple like they have is just ridiculous. They won't come out and say anything regarding this phone, price, data plan costs, release date, nothing!! I mean, what if we all wait for 2 or 3 more weeks and the data price is ridiculous? They I will have waited 8 weeks for a phone that is just simply not worth the money it will cost to own it, let alone 10 of them. That is my point, I am just tired of of the soon and 1 more week comments. You can only listen to that for so long before you need to just realize its a phone and move on. I bet they wouldn't tell Jobs or Apple 1 more week!! They would bend over and say thank you sir, and they have proved that the last 2 months!!

u mad?

Seriously, it's just one more week. It's gonna be ok.

After reading Be5n's stuff it's kinda clear to me that Verizon is willing to take heat on the release instead of doing the release and taking heat on phone and network problems. I can see the logic but the only thing that people are asking for is information. If what I said is the case then all they have to do is tell people.

I'm with you 100% on this. I have been telling myself I will give it one more week and today was going to be my very last day until we all heard a week ago it was likely the 17th. So I told myself one more week. No we are hearing the 21st or 24th??? WTF!!!! There is NO way Verizon would even think of telling Apple one more week. This has gotten SOOOO out of control

Not sure they are catering to Apple as they are improving their network. If it wasn't iPhone and another phone that they needed to focus on, they would have done the same thing. Apple has nothing to do with it. Once the first LTE phone comes out, guess what? All focus will be on the Thunderbolt for a while until the network is again optimized. And this may push out the release of the Bionic, Revolution, et al.

I think you frustration is misdirected - trust me - I hate Apple, but I cannot blame them for this.

Any problem can be solved, you just need time and resources. Obviously, they are working on network issues and need to resolve those before moving on. They have a fixed set of technicians so time is the variable that changes.

What happens if you're a Bionic fan and that phone release gets moved out because the techs are working on thunderbolt optimizations. Do you blame apple again?

I agree....and for those that think not, I actually think it is both...
On one hand.....
Verizon (or any other carrier) is not going to be concerned about one or two (or 300) people leaving them.

But i also think it is a very slippery slope....once people start leaving....you sometimes just can't reverse it...it just becomes an inevitable reality. Even for the big companies. I am sure more than a few people who worked for Block Bluster said "so what if we lose a few customers"...well they have made changes since then, but it has been too late! or At&t, or Circuit City, or Borders, etc.
Verizon has been a good company for me the last two years....but the way I see it they either know when they are going to sell the phone or they do not.

If they do know....not telling me is no longer cool.
If they do not know because things are not ready...I am not sure I want to get excited about this phone yet.

Either way....let me know! Sorry for the rant!
