I haven't been following Engadget as much as I used to but they usually are pretty good about posting. They don't usually post anything unless it is 100% so I really think it will be the 17th.

They are usually very reliable source of info. It wasn't a official announcement by them but rather a tweet from a HTC regional sales manager. Nonetheless I hope this damn phone is released this week. My wife's ATT contract expires today so its time for a new phone and carrier.

anymore its very hard to trust Engadget (NOT saying anything about the tweet because i was there the day it happened on twitter etc and blah blah, i'm tired, blah blah blah, TODAY? *wink*)

If so, it is possible that he was referring to a release date being made on the 15th.

Yes and no. It was overheard, but it was in reference to an announcement date. They weren't allowed to say the date but a supervisor allegedly said "Beware the Ides of March" in the background.

Caesar wouldn't be able to enjoy the phone, but maybe he'd hear the announcement? As far as I understand, Ben5 can't tell us about the announcement date. Not because he's not allowed, but because he genuinely doesn't know.

Board users please check history of date and time stamps of posts. That post with the "Beware the Ides of March" was by me a customer of Verizon not an employee. I signed up there phone sales and asked the sales guy on the phone when the Thunderbolt was coming since I was using a used blackberry in the meantime. The sales guy told me I honestly don't know but I can ask my supervisor. The sales guy either forgot to put me on hold or didn't mute the phone cause when he yelled across the floor to his supervisor. I could hear a man yelling back "Beware the Ides of March." To which we both laughed. It was not no Verizon employee conference or something big it was a simple sales chat. So I would take that with a big grain of salt.

They do follow the AOL way after all. Write news stories that will get hits and more revenue from ads, regardless of if it's total BS or not. Hence why they've lost some of their best editors recently.

I just watched a video over at youtube minutes ago and the ad at the beginning was of a man flying, holding a TB and talking about verizon 4G. The ad banner at the top of the page was also for verizon 4g. Not sure if anyone has seen this, or it's new as of early this morning (the 14th)

It seems to play everytime I watch this video. Maybe it will play for you too, maybe not.

And if VZW reps knew we'd have a ton of them leaking the info to us. Seems too quiet. I can't believe all these reps that were so willing to give us false dates are not saying a word when they have a confirmed date.

There would also be a memo or note in the reps info system. And of course we'd have photos of that.

When I worked for VZW we were given a release date in our Info Center a week in advance at least.

But I haven't worked for them in two years. Plus this release is botched, so who knows.
