There's a storm brewing...

I was planning to upgrade through BB since I have a gift card.

I was just chatting with BB online and he told me you have to get the Black Tie protection program, which costs at least $9.99 per month ($14.99 for iPhone), and does NOT cover theft, loss, water damage etc. For TBolt I would guess it will be close to the iPhone rate ($14.99).

Sounds like a lame deal to me since VZ's program covers loss and costs less!! :(

So it appears Verizon's insurance is better. The only question is can we buy Verizon's insurance on a phone purchased from BBY.

Anyone ordering the Thunderbolt from Wirefly tonight?
They're supposedly taking pre-orders tonight and It's supposedly shipping on the 17th. I think I'm gonna hold out and take my chance going to Verizon on the 17th hoping they have them in stock... if that's the release date.

Thanks for a really fun ride!

I'm new here at AC. I joined not long ago after I decided to buy a Thunderbolt. I've also joined all the other major Android sites during this time.

I just want to say that AC is the "funnest" and most informative site of all of 'em. Especially this thread!

THANK YOU Android Central members, owners and mods!

Pretty sure I've gone over this here before, but maybe not, so I think it's worth posting again.

I picked up an Inspire to play with while waiting for the Bolt. The included battery is only 1250 MAH.

Today, the phone has been off charge for almost 13 hours, and I'm at 60% battery. I've sent and received some texts, tweets and calls. I've spent some time reading and posting to this forum on Tapatalk. I ahve my sync set to 1 hour on all my widgets. Of course LTE is going to draw more power, but on 3G it seems like the stock battery will be FINE. I'm not in an LTE area here in South Jersey, but I'm close to one (Philadelphia) so I probably won't use LTE more than occasionally at first anyway.

Have we seen confirmation of $249 from VZW?

Bennnnn has not answered yet.

They will give me price when they call me back on the early upgrade but he said less than $300 and smiled... I said less than $299? He smiled and nodded.

I'm 90% sure when I bought my Daughter's Ally a few months ago that I was offered a choice between the two.

Yeah Verizon just called me and said the Thunderbolt is being released Thursday. He could not comfirm a price of it but it is being released Thursday.

I'm leaning towards Verizon's insurance as well. The only thing I don't like about Verizon's insurance is that if your phone breaks, I've been told that they have to mail you a backup phone until they get yours fixed/replaced...so you'd be without a phone for a few days or more. At best buy they have a backup phone for you to take away that day. Can anyone confirm that all of this is true? I'm in the medical field and cannot be without my phone for any amount of time so that would steer me away from Verizon's plans if that were true.

Seems like you should be able to since the contract is with VW, but you never know. I plan to call and find out.

I know this is only my second post, but ive been following here for over a month now. But I went to my local verizon store today and they said out this thursday and that it was $250. Not saying they couldn't be wrong though. They took my number and said they'd call thursday.

That's because we don't get "modded" for having some off-topic fun once in a while and mods/admins work very hard to keep this place in order.
