so i hear that my name is being thrown around, and not in ways that i'm ok with. I'm going to set the record straight right now.

I've been monitoring this thread pretty closely. It got pretty popular very quickly. It was started by a member that claims to work for verizon as a financial analyst. Now before we get too far into this let me point out that people post rumors and claim to have inside information all of the time. This time was no different. Except it was. For some reason people decided to believe him a lot more than would be considered "normal."

given this fact, and the fact that he was getting flamed left and right i decided to take action. Normally this wouldn't be a function of the mod team, but that would've made it easier to moderate this particular thread. I pm'd him asking for verification that he was who he said he was. I was provided with a twitter account. This account is private. I requested permission to follow him, and when i told him he needs to accept me he told me he didn't know how to. To this day i have nothing that can prove that he is who he says.

I want everyone to look at my post count. I've been around for a while. Not as long as some of you, but for a while. I think i've proven my worth around here with the advice i've offered and assistance i've provided.

As far as bennnnn goes i have not been provided with any solid evidence that his information is any more legitimate than anybody else's. This is not the first time we've heard this date, and it won't be the last. I'm not saying don't believe him. That's your choice.

What i'm saying is that the mod/admin team has not vetted nor verified bennnnn as he previously stated.

Any mention of him being verified by the mod/admin team is simply not true. If you have any questions please feel free to pm me and i reply as soon as possible.

I knew it! it may just be that he doesnt want to trust anyone with his info out of fear....Lillysdad...im not saying you are just anyone but you know what i mean. My question for Bennnnnnnnnnnnnnn is, why did you tell us you were "verified" and who did said verification.

Well that's interesting. Looks like lots of people are going to be up in arms tomorrow. It still doesn't change what seems to be the golden rule in the Thunderbolt forums, which is 'unless the info you hear is from Verizon, don't bank on it'. Whether someone has been vetted or not, it still doesn't change whether VZW can push it back again. Plus it's a phone. And not a phone that can grant three wishes or print money..even though it does have the 4th g

I think it's clear at this point that their is something wrong with this phone or the Verizon 4G network. I'll be damned if I jump into this fire first. Until I hear some feedback first, there isn't a chance in hell that I'm going to give Verizon a damn dime.

Everyone else would be well advised to do the same. Dont' be a fool. Something is wrong with this situation.

Well put. I have been contemplating whether it is even worth getting the TB. If there are issues with the LTE network there is no telling when it may be resolved. I'm afraid of being stuck with the newest phone with serious issues.

I was provided with the same Twitter account as the mods. I did not ask to be followed but I did more digging. If this guy made up this identity then this is an elaborate hoax.

It is possible he borrowed this guys name and background to throw people off or to give his posts more weight.

Either way, he seems as legit as we can possibly, reasonably verify.

I could be wrong and if I am, I will apologize to everyone but I am going to take a chance on him. If I am wrong, my life won't end.

Took the weekend off from these forums for the most part. It never ends with all the rumors. I am for one glad I never take them so serious, I hope they are true, but if not, no biggie... wait for the next rumor. LOL

Apparently Bennnnn has sent some "proof" about his identity to some of the regular forum members here and most of them have said they believe him. He must also have sent the same thing to the moderators.

But as Cory has made clear many times in this thread itself, moderators do not officially verify any members identity. Apparently that is not the policy.

So, I am going to give him a benefit of the doubt. If I were in Bennnnn's position, i would not feel obligated to prove my identity. I defitinely would not. The fact that he has attempted to do so, has left some room to doubt him. But again, like I said, I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt.

He could very well be who he says he is , but evidently he doesn't know what he thinks he knows. He said things were going to happen without a doubt and they didn't happen. They (VZW) are probably feeding him info and laughing when he makes a fool out of himself. If he wants to keep his job he better keep his mouth shut. VZW knows what is going on in these forums and I know of a guy who lost his job leaking info to XDA last year.
Point is, he doesn't know any more than you do , he's proven that.

Time will tell, thats just about the size of it....I also like to think, if he's not who he says he is. Than why would he waste so much time doing what he's doing? Its a waste of time IMO.
