There's a storm brewing...

I meant where did the info come from and how credible is it vs last week's information. I know it's all from his boss. I just want to know where his boss got the info and how sure he is of the date.

Again, not trying to be difficult. I'm in the camp of people that choose to believe that bennnnn is legit.

I believe his boss' boss is c-level. We could call the CEO and ask him how credible his direct reports are. ;)

After the rain, the rainbow will lead to a pot of thunderbolts on mar. 17th I will beleive it when leprechauns flly!!!!!! That may happen before verizon can make a date.

Yes, It will be.

If indeed unlimited 4G LTE data will be available at the T-Bolt's release, how would it be possible to keep that data plan for life (or until 5G comes out)? Some other people on the forum were mentioning how every time you change your phone you are forced to choose from the current data packages, so I assume unlimited 4G is just a fad that will last a mere year before newer devices supersede the benefit of being able to consume as much bandwidth as you desire.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Ben^5 claimed we would be able to get unlimited 4G data with the T-Bolt, but last week the CFO implied or even straight out said how the T-Bolt will offer a "taste" of what tiered pricing will look like.

I'm not saying he's trolling us necessarily, but if Ben^5 is legit it makes sense he would give us false information often just because the nature of the industry is so volatile and information always takes time to finalize and then go down the channels.

where is that? on a video or interview? just curious :)

If we are to believe Bennnnnnn (which I sort of do cause its fun), then they were going to launch it this week...but SOMETHING HAPPENED, maybe Ronald the debugger threw up a red flag or something, so now Bennnn is saying they talked about, had a pow wow, and are ready to go for NEXT week! BOO YA!

Of course....logic at this point rears its ugly head and says "sounds like you boys at Big Red have a phone that has problems that you just fixed last week (or even today), that was not a problem a week or two ago when you were ready to launch this week"? Which causes me to pause!

Of course it could just be like a marketing snafu, or some other logistical issue going on....I am withholding my judgement until I hear from Verizon. I know this sounds dumb...but I am hoping Verizon will shed enough light on the subject to allow my logical negative vibe to feel more at ease!

And while I am in the group that believes Ben, i feel that he probably cannot be completely honest if he really is in the know. Big difference between getting suspended or even fired vs. getting sued for the next 20 years for telling a bunch of phone hounds something that could cost the company a zillion dollars. Hopefully Bennnnnn you are not that foolish!

Google "verizon thunderbolt tier" for more links, but this is one that seems straightforward enough: Verizon: HTC Thunderbolt coming 'very shortly,' LTE tiered pricing too | ZDNet

Contradicts what Ben is saying, but it is also coming from the CFO himself. They even mention how the iPhone unlimited 3G plan (and in turn all mobile device unlimited 3G plans) are only temporary, implying that LTE may not even have that option upon the T-Bolt's release.

If we do get unlimited that would be great, but even then I am expecting data throttling and soft caps that would prevent it from being better than a cheaper tiered package that offers the same experience except with a hard cap.

Well looks like HTC knows when it's coming out. On HTC's twitter account @agent3012 asks "I wonder if the @HTC tweet team will throw a big party once the "Is the Thunderbolt out?" questions are over."

And HTC replied "@agent3012 I already booked the DJ."

You most likely won't hear anything aside from excitement about the release. They will not announce any issues with the phone since 95% of the people do not even know it's delays - so why raise any possible issues that are not issues? That's just bad for business.

Hey, sorry guys, busy day at work. This iPad has definitely taken priority over a lot of our projects for the week.

I would like to formally address the speculation and verification issues brought forth to me. After a conversation with iamlilysdad, it has been brought to my attention that I had infact "not been verified" by the moderators.

As Cory states,

I apologize to you all for all the confusion, as I was mislead by my assumptions myself, and I hope we can get this thread back on track.

Now, as I told Cory, I am not here looking for fame, honor, or free hand outs. I am simply here to provide my credible information with the general population on these forums who shares a common interest in the subject, and that is all. I stand behind my information one hundred percent, and I hope you all will acknowledge this in the following week leading up to the launch of the HTC Thunderbolt.

As I stated, I will still stand by my source (Director) and will continue to update information as I receive it. I am purely here to help out with what I can and prove what I can, while avoiding the risk of being identified by my employer.

As we know, it's difficult for me to give out information to everyone in this forum, to prove my identity without sacrificing my career, so I had entrusted a select few of you to share my information with, knowing that they would keep it confidential and help other members understand the situation.

Now, in lighter news, I can now happily confirm that the Thunderbolt is definitely on schedule for March 17th and I do not see any more delays in the future. Best Buy stores should be receiving shipments a day early for pre-orderers, but don't to worry if you didn't; you will definitely be the proud owner of an HTC Thunderbolt in 10 days.

AWWWW YEAAAAAHHHHHHH!!! I Dont have to get a Storm 3!!!!! :D

any skype info?

I agree, My work bleeds into PR more often than I like and explaining a snafu would be way "off message". If I have enough self discipline, this may force my hand to wait an additional couple of weeks before purchasing just to see if I am buying something that was touted one way, but in reality is something else. With all that said...I am still excited!

I will probably wait through the weekend - that should give enough time for these forums to light up with any potential issues. If all looks good, I will have my new phone on Monday the 21st.

Confirmed (that this transaction happened). This hints that a hard release date has been achieved, but as the iPad 2 is coming out Friday the marketing push will be all about iOS this week. We won't know for sure if HTC actually meant anything by that until the T-Bolt comes out.

Don't get to caught up in things like this. It's just as likely that HTC is just playing along...

Let's not let one rumor get us in an uproar (again). We still have the 10th and the 17th to count on!

I am just curious, what happens after the day my contract is up? Do I just go month to month with the same plan/same bill? Does anyone know how this works?

Yes it is month to month same plan/same bill.

I don't have any hopes for the 10th ...maybe Best Buy pre-orders, just like they did for BlackBerry Storm.
