I can't seen Verizon not getting the phone on launch date. BB may have an exclusive deal that they can sell the TB along with VZW. Only way BB will be able to sell the TB before VZW if their truck shipment get hijacked.

That does not make sense does it? If you want more people to buy an iconic phone, you should allow them to upgrade early, just like they did with AT&T with iPhone4 release.

Or does this mean, ONCE you get this iconic phone, you can't upgrade early and get another phone?

It means that if you want to go buy an iPhone today and you are not yet eligible for an upgrade, you cannot get the phone yet. It remains to be seen if the TB will find its way to this portal as well...

And yes, I understand where you're coming from concerning your argument, but I studied Apple quite a lot in business school. And an "iconic phone" selling portal that prohibits an employee or manager from offering the phone for anything less than MSRP sounds to me like a business model with Steve Jobs' name written all over it, nomsayin

Did I mention, I'm addicted to the forums. I wake up in the morning and read them. I check them periodically throughout the day at work. I get home and check them. Laying in bed, I'll check them on my phone.

My wife just wants this damn phone to come out already. She doesn't understand it will get worse then.

Sounds so familiar. I just want the damn phone to come out so I can quit looking at the forums. My wife has accepted the fact that I'll be glued to my computer until the tbolt hits.

hey guys - so i pre-ordered the thunderbolt at best buy on feb 6th (seems like a lifetime ago), so i'm excited at the prospect of getting it a day early (maybe!), but i'm wondering, are there any downsides to not getting the phone directly from verizon? this will be my 5th phone and the first not purchased directly from a vzw store
