what does this mean? Is there some conflict below the surface that we're not aware of?

Either way, there are some people getting fired over this for sure.

Probably because HTC said they were shipping these phones to VZW the week of MWC. VZW won't say anything about the phone despite having a crap load of advertising. HTC has quite a few commercials for the phone already which costs them money and if VZW isn't selling them that means HTC isn't making any money either. People are already talking Samsung Stealth, Motorla Atrix or Motorola Bionic which means HTC loses more money. I've never been in Finance or anything like that but I could imagine that's pretty much how it goes.

All this let down is making me think to just go get the DroidX and save myself $250.......But my heart says NO.....
