There's a storm brewing...

Wow. This Steve Jobs/Apple stuff got old real quick. It's like any of the new SNL skits. The joke didn't work the first time so we'll make a 10 minute skit around it so it keeps not being funny.

Apple isn't controlling or dictating when the TB is going to be released. This is all on VZW and quite frankly, they're making choices that the larger consumer base will embrace. This is especially true if the TB had functional/quality issues. I'm no Apple fanboy - we have two Apple products in my house (3rd Gen iPod and 2nd Gen iPod Nano) and I sincerely doubt that I'll buy any more - but Apple products do seem to create an evangelical kind of following from their users.

We're a small fanatical segment of their market and we'd like to be catered to, but the smart play for VZW is to focus on products with mass market appeal.

So can we please knock off all this nonsense that Apple is approving every step that VZW is taking right now? And can we do it quickly before someone calls Jimmy Fallon and asks him to make a skit about it?

Awwwwww Yeaaaaaahhhh.

Comparing this to the pic NCX uploaded, everything on the phone's display is exactly the same ...time, date, location...

Not sure if that date has anything to do with a release date. The last one I saw said FEB. 14.
But I do hope this one is right.

I never said it was the same as Bennnnn's upload, i only said "was it the screenshot i posted the other day?"

This same picture of the ThunderBolt appears at the beginning of the Toy Helicopter ad that HTC made.

However the fact that this is on a brochure or poster heralding the arrival of that legendary phone, shows this date was intentionally teased by HTC, just like the Feb 14th date was on the dummy phones.

yeah, i'll bite, definitely better than my capture of the commercial.

Bennnnn, can you take a pic of the entire thing its on?

I'm beginning to wonder if the outside leaks beyond what you've provided us with are intentionally being done,
like the screenshot today with the next step being the iPad 2 then the ThunderBolt, it intentionally only showed released/announced devices, i didn't show the next steps after ThunderBolt.

if I recall, "Top Secret 6" was Verizon's internal name for that step process last year

this year is Mission 11, leading me to believe its 11 devices just like last year it was 6

Hey, I saved the pic and checked the 'properties'. Said it was taken this afternoon on an iphone4. I have no idea what that really means or what its a pic of....but it would seem to be a recent pic, not something recycled.

Where was it taken? Should give you coordinates in the properties as well!

We weren't talking about Apple being the cause of the TB's delay... we were talking about Verizon's new "iconic device" portal (the computer system they use to sell new phones) which, as of right now, is the portal that only contains the iPhone4, hence our discussion of Apple

I don't think he's that dumb to enable geo-tagging

And I say they can keep the Fruit separated from the Vegatables (cheesy? yes!)

I went through that portal to see how much they were going to charge for everything and what all they would offer or require and i hated that portal, it was so slow and you couldn't use employee discounts in there. It was locked tight.

My guess the reason they have a special portal to sell the iphone is because Apple also sells the device for Verizon at its stores, so it makes sense to give Apple un-filtered access by a special portal since Verizon stores have direct network/store access to Verizon's servers.

Technically we would have to wait until July because they won't release the iphoney and the TB in the same month. SJ would not allow it.

So what you're saying is the iphone in june and the TB in july. Cause what apple wants, apple gets... apparently
