Was hoping to wake up to some official thunderbolt love this morning. Oh well, I'm sure we will hear somthing "Soon".
As others have stated, Tuesdays are usually announcement days... But we can hope we have put enough pressure on them to say something today...
Yeah, if nothing shows up today, then there will be no pre-order, which would seem unusual for a release, of this supposed importance, to VZW.
Why wouldn't there be a preorder if they announced it tomorrow? Preorder could start tomorrow.
You're right, they could do it. But I doubt they will. A pre-order with less than a days notice to customers? Doubtful.

Online pre-order on Wednesday, in-store launch Thursday. It is possible. And VZW have done it before.
I will just wait till tomorrow before I go back in my corner and sulk.
As bad as I want this phone Thursday I agree with you and Chrisy. It is too quiet for this phone to be released Thursday. An announcement with a release next week seems more likely. I hope I am wrong.

VZW has botched this release so much that I take speculation about pre-orders and announcements with a huge mountain of salt. Just because VZW made pre-orders availble X number of days before the release or because they made an announcement X number of days before the release in the past does NOT mean that they will necessarily follow that playbook for this release.

While I think the early units of the Bolt won't be affected, there is reason to believe the latter ones could be if they use any japanese components.

To me, it sounds like we are going to hear something this week. Even if the phone does not launch, an announcement will come, the convergence of the timing is not a coincindence. VZW has much too gain and much to lose by getting some kind of announcement out before CTIA....what with the 24 hour news cycles and so forth....They will at least want to announce this and get this to land at CTIA instead of not sharing big news with the others. This must have been mapped out weeks ago by VZW with the work around issues and the mareketing and everything else....

I just read that the Earth quake in Japan could delay the Thunderbolt indefinitely. Anyone else hear that too - or anything contrary to it?
