5PM EDT if they are going to announce today in order to boost trading starting tomorrow morning. Maybe a little earlier if they want after hour traders to benefit from said knowledge.

Most likely they'll announce tomorrow at 10AM EDT because according to a post or two earlier in this thread VZW likes to ensure that their stores have or are about to receive deliveries of the product before announcing a hard date. If there are shipping delays or what have you then VZW can keep mum until later.

According to Bennnnn the device has been shipped.

Good news. I believe they did in fact start shipping units this morning.

i am on vacation so i am hoping the rest of the people in my area where i am visiting are in school or at work so i can pick one up earlier in the day if they are in danger of being sold out. if it is in fact coming on thursday, i have yet to hear anything from the vzw or bestbuy stores i left my contact info with.

Grammar aside, that's a really bizarre move by VZW. This is their big new LTE phone, online presales only make sense.

Where are my salt grains...

Aside from having a half-dozen deer in the front yard last night (true) because of all the "grains of salt" I poured there turning into a salt-lick -- I can see VZW not doing a pre-order here for a few hypothetical reasons:
* Their overnight capacity is possibly peaked because of other releases (iPhone/iPad anyone?)
* They may need to throw their in-store associates a bone since many work on commission and the majority of iPhone sales were on-line (denying them potential commissions)
* This is the first LTE phone, so they want to minimize the at-home activations (and unforeseen complications) and try to keep it in the stores.
* They pushed most of their stock forward in their logistics train rather than stock up back in their warehouse because they had to move all those iPad's and iPhones through.

Just my thoughts.....

I am in TX and just spoke with my local Verizon store and the lady told me she just received the word and the Tbolt will go on sale the 17th at 9am!!!! I'll be there at 7!!!
