Thanks man. I am going to go ahead and do that one then. Hopefully none of my patients need anything overnight if I need a replacement phone sent to me since they have it to you next day assuming it isn't a weekend. It is also $3 cheaper than Best Buys coverage per month although BB's doesn't have a deductible. If it weren't for the fact that BB can't put my fiances work discount on our account when we are there and us having to go through the hassle of setting it up over the phone later on, I'd just do BB's because it would be the better deal if something did go wrong with the phone.

I don't know if anyone mentioned it yet (haven't read thru all 30+ pages since I checked the thread earlier) but SquareTrade offers a good cellphone warranty:

Square Trade is good, I have a policy on my netbook. However, for phones they do not cover theft and things like that and they also do not send you a phone to hold you over until yours is fixed (at least not to my knowledge).

I called two vzw stores. One said "no official announcement" second said "tentative date is 17th".

LOL.. Verizon is *ucking mess.

Yeah, just called our two stores in Florence, KY and they said they haven't heard anything and that if it was going to be here this week they should have received an "advanced shipment notice" by now. It's hard to believe that is true though with all the good news everyone is hearing.

The stores in Columbus, Ohio do too, I talked to a Jason and ask (Lie) that another store nearbye told my friend the 17th, he sounded pissed and said, "No, it is all just internet rumor, we do not know when it is coming."

I told them to cut the crap I already know its coming on thursday. The store came clean and said they'd hold one for me

I called every VZW store here in Northern NJ and NYC and all had the same answer of "No, nothing new. Rumors are end of month but with all the push backs don't be surprised for next month." I just don't get it. I hope tomorrow all this uncertainty is over with. But I an still very uncertain about this week.

Actually I'm kind of hoping that this is all the announcing we get. If there is a big announcement everybody will be lined up like an iphone launch. It would be nice to stroll into Verizon on thursday morning and just buy one after all this crazy waiting. After Pandas post i'm nervous that I'll be waiting again, like I had to for the Inc.

Hey Corey if it is released on the 17th that day you should change the tilte to how many days have you had your thunderbolt. I still see some doubt among the droidians. With out an official press release there can always be another delay but I will keep fingers and toes crossed.

Just called my local Verizon store and as far as they're concerned it's not coming on Thursday as they haven't heard any information regarding a release date or had any meetings regarding the phone. Also said they don't have any sort of promotional materials either such as posters, dummy units and what not. I'm up for my NE2 but would BB honor that or am I better off just ordering online?

The massive irony I find in such braggadocio is that he was probably right despite himself.

In other words it was pure luck and he is passing it off as skill/insider knowledge/authority. In fact hypothetically, if VZW could have pushed the launch day up they almost for sure would have, that would have made him wrong. He surely is not high enough in the chain to have a real impact on the final decision for a launch. Thus this is luck, followed by arrogance. Being right for the wrong reason is not all that admirable IMHO... Anyone can be lucky.

BTW just to not get dinged as a hater, I am totally open to an argument WITH EVIDENCE that points out my deduction here is not correct.

On an unrelated note so much for the lame sign up at VZW - "know before it hits". I never bothered, felt the chance of spam was too high. I suppose I could cut them some slack and realize they probably will send an email out before the 17th. Nothing beats the forums though!

Last but not least something OFFICIAL from VWZ is still highly desirable. It is downright funny how many Verizon folks still do not seem to know. Then again even with an official VZW Corporate announcement tons of VZW employees STILL wouldn't know...

Oh well I'm not a total Debbie Downer. I'm just as excited as the next person here with the great news.

No. I'm trying to help clear out some of the "I can't wait until Thursday" posts so people that don't hit the refresh button every 30 seconds aren't having to scroll through 10 pages looking for un update from Bennnnn. There are also new Thursday threads being opened every 30 minutes. Believe it or not, there's a method to my moderation madness.

I wish they would do that for me here in South Florida. I called and asked about the phone and said they didn't know anything other than rumors. So, I asked them to make me an appointment for as soon as they open on Thursday. He quickly replied, "That is a great idea. Considering how many people have called and asked about the phone arriving on Thursday, and how early we will open on Thursday, I can't believe you are the first person to think of scheduling an appointment first thing in the morning." I, of course, told him that I didn't think of it. I saw that someone on an online thread did that, and the first thing I thought was that that is a great idea. so, the moral of the story is, you guys should call and see if you can make an appointment with your local Verizon store for as soon as they open on Thursday. I forget who I saw that did that, it was in a different thread, but I'll find out who did it and definitely give them a big THANKS.
