It's barely selling. AMOLED/SLCD issues and all. Where's the accessories? Desktop dock, OTA updates, etc?
VZW's current #1 phone isn't. (Note I said current since Droid X will oust Incredible)
I sure it's a fluke, but the Incredible does not appear to be on the HTC site - at the moment, anyway.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news or a smart a$$ but y'all keep saying "How is it not selling if its on back order?"
Precisely. Can't sell something you don't have. Furthermore, VZW is offering people a chance to change their order to a Moto X if their Inc is on back order. Its not sold til its in your hands. So no, the Inc is not selling.
I think it is selling.
Verizon just wants you locked up asap...heck local stores still push the eris on people.
The incredible is the right size. X is too big.
I agree with the OP... I love my phone but its glaringly obvious that the Incredible isn't a mainstream phone from either the consumer or the accessory standpoint. I still get asked ALL the TIME "what phone is that?". And when I tell them, they say that's a silly name and I've never heard of it.
Sucks, but this phone will be a short lived shadow of the Evo and the iPhone4 - its a great phone that no one knows or cares about.
If it wasn't selling, then there would be no back orders, now would there?
Search through here, I'm sure there's a thread for the desktop docks.
What do you see that needs an update?
I'm still of the opinion that these huge phones (i.e. larger than 4 inches, i.e. DROID X/EVO 4G) are not intended for the 'mainstream.' Of course they are popular on tech forums. It appeals to the inner-nerd in all of us. But we are far from being the majority of smartphone buyers. Now, the DROID X may well beat the Incredible in terms of sales, but for how long? A month after the X, DROID 2 comes along. Then what? The Incredible has been on top since its release. It has sold well, and continues to sell well. I'm sure there are more Incredibles out there than EVOs, if only because of how long each has been available.
If I wanted to get the X, I would. I will be well within my 30 days to return the Incredible, and get an X when it is released. But will I? Almost certainly not. The X is huge. The EVO was too big for me, as well.
I totally agree. After "hefting" the EVO 4G, I realized that there is a point where a phone is too big. The Incredible will meet the needs of those that don't want a "Godzilla Phone".
Thank goodness Android is a platform where competition is encouraged and where manufacturers are allowed to create a variety of devices with different specs and features. Some people WANT a 4.3' screen. Some people would love the small (3.2?) screen on the Aria that is on AT&T. Most important thing is CHOICE.
Are the people you are showing your Phone to Amish or do they live in caves? "I've never heard of it. LOL

Depends on how you look at it. I was "sold" a phone the day I ordered it and paid for it. Just because I don't have it in my hands right now doesn't mean it wasn't sold. If you go into a Sears and buy a new washer/dryer set you pay for it right there. They may not be able to deliver it for a few days, but it was definately "sold".
So, these phones are selling.
