Users pull few punches when they take to the forums (and I'm no exception) but I felt that praise should be given when it's merited, and this is my shortlist after spending about 3 weeks with the Pie update.

1. Dual-SIM: Sources can be changed directly from the notification shade and they change INSTANTLY
2. Battery optimization exemption truly works
3. Smarter device unlocking and options
4. Lockdown in power menu
5. "Always ask" is factory default for default apps prompt
6. Redundant dual-SIM status icons removed
7. Screen orientation change on-demand
8. Less status icon clutter in general (in default view)
9. Special Access menu in Settings --> Apps
10. Search bar in Settings --> Apps (Thank GOD!)
11. Buttons on Notifications and the Notification Shade are much easier to [correctly] press. (E.g. "Clear All")
12. Editing every aspect of every type of notification directly from the shade (especially being able to minimize any of them!)

I'm confused -- a post saying good things about the Pie update?!?:p Seriously though, it's great to see a positive perspective on this!

I guess I'm one of the few as well. I enjoyed the update through the beta and still do. Only 2 things I wish Samsung would change.
Bring back haptic feedback with gestures (they has this in beta 1).
Bring back list view for recents.
These are not deal breakers for me at all. Don't stone me for saying this, but I think Samsung did a great job.

I also really like the dark mode. Sure, it doesn't work with third party apps, but he even having little things like that notification shade dark has greatly increased my battery life.
